Work/Sleep EP - The Appreciation Post

This is another band that I found out because of FrostClick and this is their Ep that was released March 2010. These guys are from Boston and started up in '05. They are like a pop=punk/synth-core band, as said on their FaceBook page. So why not give these guys a try, for funzies.

1. The Beating of a Lifetime: This song starts out very poppy. But it has this "bubble gum" happiness to it. The synths give it that feel. They lyrics aren't as happy feeling and the melody. Damn it,  I hope this isn't the whole Ep. The breakdown of the song has an electronic drum in it. This song is too pop feeling to be a punk song.
2. I'm No Sure Thing: This song starts out worse than the last song. This song is kind of like the last song, but I don't think that it's as happy. This has a feeling of Dying is Your Latest Fashion in the vocals and the melody. What kills it is the synth. Its buzzing is abnoxious to me.
3. Doom & Gloom: This song doesn't really show that much of a difference between this one and the last one. There is a part that reminds me of the first album by Escape the Fate, but it ends to fast. If they had that part a little more than maybe it'd be better.
4. No Songs Is Good Songs: This song has a new Weezer feeling to it. That doesn't feel good, it doesn't have a good feeling for me. Yeah this sounds like a more winy Weezer.
5. Better My Future: This is the closest the guys have come to a Punk vibe. The bad thing is that this is just under 40 seconds and is an intrelude.
6. Fear Of Loss: Then this song starts and contiunes that punkish vibe from the last track. The vibe is killed by the synth. The drum roll doesn't even help these guys out.
7. Moving Backwards: Yeah this is the best part, # the ending is near. :(

I have to give this a 3/10. This is the first time that I'd ever heard anything by these guys. And to be honest I don't like this type of music. They sound like some random band on Epitaph Records. I think there is only 2 or 3 bands ever on that label that I like, ETF and FIR. It just doesn't work for me, I can't explain any more than, it just bugs me. I hope they make it onto Epitaph. Hey it's only 18 minutes so....

The Portable Cypher Volume 1 - Brock Berrigan

This is some download that I just downloaded because I thought the album cover was kinda goofy. I thought, getting into this, that this would be like a hip-hop album or something that I wouldn't really like but well, you'll see how I was wrong. What I am going to say about this is, that it completely kicked my ass.

1. Brandy of the Damned: This song kind of reminded me of a song that I could see being in Kill Bill. One of the parts where she is in Tokyo, in Vol. 1, and the bride in walking through the club is in O'ren Ishii's in. If you didn't know that's my favorite movie EVER!!!!!
2. Geronimo: This song could also kind of be in that to, possibly. I'm not sure, but I could see this being a song that kind of reminds me of Sweet Cream (Redux) off the the Crank High Voltage soundtrack Mike Patton did back in 2009. I love that song, this reminds me of it because of the drums and stuff.
3. Orchestrated Mad Man: This beat sounds like a new updated, hip/underground, James Bond song. I could see this playing while he is walking thought a Casino in on of the movies and is about to meet the bad guy for the first time. There is eve
4. Breakfast with a Stranger: This is defiantly a song that I could see being in like a revamped '60s James Bond classic. Maybe a movie like Thunderball. I might just be crazy, but this gives me this ocean, underwater feel. One that is portrayed through Thunderball.
5. Dragon's: This song starts with an older woman singing "A dragon once lived on the side of the mountian". The thing that's cool about her saying that is that her voice moves back and forth pretty fast alternating between left channel to right channel.
6. Get The Message Out: This song is like a song that I could see being in an action movie. Possible like Crank. There is a ballin feel to it where I could see it on that basketball video game Dan the Automator did back in like '08-'09 one of those.
7. Paddy's Pub: This song has this girl voice in the background that reminds me of The Resident's song Burn Baby Burn. The rest of the song has this smooth, jazz feeling. Like its slick cats. If you know what I mean.
8. The Headless Horseman's Rampage: This song has that eerie feel to it that makes me feel like it would reminds me of an eerie scene in a movie. I think there it a clip from Ricky Bobby in that song, but I'm not sure.
9. Coffee and Bacon: This is defiantly a song where I could see it fitting the morning where they are planning and it is starting to flow, and the story line gets interesting. This could be in like Pulp Fiction or a Quentin Tarentino movie. Actually I think this would fit into Kill Bill Vol. 1 perfectly. It definitely has that chill feeling, relaxed and layed back.
10. Long Strange Evenings: I don't really know how to explain this track, You have to listen to this. I think that the name fits it. It is a cool track. This song is also very chill, and I think that it has a lot of keys in it more so, if that makes sense. I love the way the keys sound for it to. This is a sick ness.
11. Yesterday's Hero: This song is really cool. It sounds like the rest of the tracks, but it is more big, like orchestra sounding big. This song is really cool and has this sample of someone singing under the mix, but it's buried in the mix. The guy singing sounds like he is screaming to get out, and that works perfect with the fact his voice is so buried in the mix. This would be an amazing way to end a movie. And to top it off this is ten seconds short of being one minute longer than the second longest track at 2:46. This is probably the best track and an amazing way to end. The song kind of cuts off. One of the best endings of like, Ever. {11/10}

Overall this was a 9.7/10. It was awesome, I very much so suggest it if you like instrumental music. Also it you like music with a jazz feel to it. Or if you like Mike Patton's solo soundtrack work or that Lovage album he did with Dan the Automator in 2001. This actually reminds me of the instrumental version of that album, a ton. It's kind of hard to explain these type of soundtrack albums . I really like this, and I am definitely going to pay for all of his stuff, as soon as I get a debit card.

Vacation - Bomb The Music Industry!

This is the 7th album by indie music collective from New York. They are from NY, ie place that doesn't really bring that much musically. Well outside of maybe Zorn. But I don't really like bands like this, or music like this, so I am kind of not expecting anything huge.

1. Campaign For A Better Next Weekend: I went into this not expecting to like it. This song kind of shook my feelings, not a ton, but made me feel like I might like it. This wasn't that amazing of a song but if this was like the rest of the songs this would get a decent review score. This song gave me a feeling of Coldplay so I was kind of excited. And the song builds.
2. Vocal Coach: This song totally sounds like a Weezer song. Absolutely everything, outside maybe the vocals, sound like Weezer. They even have that little xylophone sound that reminds me of Pink Triangle off 1996's Pinkerton. I can't explain how similar it is.
3. Everybody That You Love: This sounds like a punkish song that might be in a Tony Hawk video game. And outside of the vocals I get this feeling of Christian rock, for some reason. But that Christian thing isn't through out the whole song, only the beginning of the song.
4. Sponge Board/Baby Waves: This could be a cover of Our Prayer off The Beach Boys 1969 20/20 but was intended to be on the 1967 lost album Smile. Which has been released as a boxset featuring some of the takes of the songs.
5. The Shit That You Hate:  The beginning of this song reminds me of Green Eyes off the 2003 A Rush of Blood to the Head by Coldplay. But that changes when they add electronic thing playing along with the vocals, and the feedback at that one part. Then they add strings and remove the feed back. This song is what I assume a ballad. The lyrics aren't that amazing, but I don't think that all of Weezer's lyrics "sound" that good. This song builds and is "epic?". Not for me, but maybe for you. The vocals on this just hurt it for me, a lot.
6. Hurricane Waves: This has a surf rock feeling to it. It is a typical one that I think you can tell that it doesn't sound that new.
7. Sick, Later: For some reason the like hook in this song reminds me of the theme song for that Victorious TV show on Nick. I have seen it in the past, mainly because sometime my sister has it on and I'm not doing anything. I don't watch it all the time, just on occasion, but then again who doesn't do that if they have a younger sibling. But anyway this song doesn't give me anything fresh.
8. Why, Oh WHy, Oh Why (Oh Oh Oh Oh): This song reminds me of like The Cure. I don't get exactly why, but it does. This song doesn't sound that far off from the last track.
9. Savers: As this progresses this starts to get repetitive. And it's a little too repetitive. The last 3 songs before this kind of sound the same. They add strings in this song, but it doesn't do anything at all for me.
10. Can't Complain: This has the feeling that I get from Hurts Like Heaven off 2011's Mylo Xyloto album by Coldplay. The difference, biggest, is there isn't as much electronics going on in there. I am glad that there is a little variation at this part. There is no need for swearing on this song, or on anyother songs on this album. They just put it in there for "shock value". And It isn't that sharking. The ending has this voice sample that I'm not gonna talk about cuz it's dumb, just remember that.
11. Everybody That Loves You: By this song I'm kind of looking forward for this thing to end.
12. Sunny Place Shady People:  This is like the electronic 8-bit solo for the last song, then they add in other instruments. The way this song ends sounds like they sampled Ronnie from Escape the Fate and more recently Falling in Reverse voice.
13. Felt Just Like Vacation: This is just a continuation on the last song. I think that the last three songs were supposed to be like a big melody. The ending of this album is ok, and it is a good way to sum everything up. There is like a 2 minute outro of an arpeggio that sounds like it getting out of tune. I think it sounds sweet. Nice way to end the album/vacation.

Overall I can't say I really liked this. I have to give it a 6.2/10. I think that this is something that people might like, and I kind of see it having potential, but I just don't like it. This thing is a big "Jumble Fuck" of genres, in a good way. Each song sounds different from each other. But then again, they are from New York. So, I got it free at their website/tumblr and I think you should give it a listen. I do want to review their future/past stuff to. So look forward to that. One last thing, the backing vocals kind of remind me of the choruses on a Bang Camaro song. This band also gives me this NOFX vibe, the vibe that makes me very much dislike NOFX.

Hunt Club Lp - Hunt Club

This is a band a group that I found out about via FrostClick. These guys seem to me like they would be folk or alternative rock or possibly even Indie. I don't know yet but based on the album cover that's what I get out of this. I think that this might be an intresting listen.

1. Knife Fight: The song starts out with an accordian, after the accordian intro a guitar comes in with the rest of the instruments. The verses are bass and drum driven. This sounds like this is an irish band. Unfortunatly I can't stand Irish music. The even sadder part is I'm pretty irish The ending of the song reminded me of System of a Down.
2. Mister Blue: This song kind of reminds me of Green Day rebellion, Irish pride, Lincoln Park. All music that i strongly dislike. This also sounds like it has a touch of Dropkick Murphys.
3. Drowning Man: This song starts out and it kind of reminds me of something that I would hear from like a thrash band. Well, at least an atempt. This sounds like they are trying to make this sound evil, but it's not doing it for me. This actually reminds me of a cheezy atempt to make a songs like Black Ssabbath's self titled song. This song kind of picks up, there is a part where it gets kind of cool sounding. I think that the vocals hurt this song, but then Punk vocals come in and it's actually pretty decent. And the song ends with a very cool guitar sounding riff. Kind of, at least the same idea as, Avenged Sevenfold on their song Turn the Other Way how the riff ends out with the song off the 2001 debut Sounding the Seventh Trumpets.
4. Punch Line: After hearing that last song, I realized that to enjoy this, you can't take it too seriously. This song is kind of cool, but its also kind of silly. This almost reminds me of My Name is Mud by Primus.
5. Spike: This is like a really cool continuation of the last song. I think that this LP has gotten better since I've waited to listen to it. This is a punk song, but it kicks butt. Seriously, I'm digging this song. There is a part when the song slows down and there are like Gregorian chants, sick.
6. Cappuccino: The intro sounds like a mix of Led Zeppelin/Whipping Post, that song by The Allman Brothers. I don't think the beginning of this song is as cool as the last one, but I still like it. There is a "scary/tripy" guitar sound and it is accompanied by other instruments. This song seriously could be a Pinkly Smooth/Ballistico song. There is this beautiful piano sounding part in this song that  brings a tear to my eye. It has this oprea voice that sings along with it and that is pretty much what ends the album, until this feedback comes in and pretty much engulfs everything else.

Overall after relistening to the first two tracks and then hearing the whole thing, I give this a 7/10. I can't wait to review the Live one they did. I feel like this is a mix of Southern/Punk/Primus so to say. I don't know, just give the whole thing a listen or two. The guys voice kind of reminds me a little of Ben from Ballistico. I don't know why, but only at certain parts.

Try This At Home - Finding Fiction

This is an indie band from Brooklyn. I found out about these guys via FrostClick. The album cover looks pretty cool and mysterious. Like I am curious to see how this plays out. The cover of this kind of reminds me of The Weeknd's mix tape House of Balloons. Oh yeah, I posted this ten days after I started the initial review

1. Migraines & Sheep: This song isn't that bad. The way it starts out is pretty cool. This song gives me a feeling of that this is going to be a good listen. And that I have not made a mistake choosing to listen to this Ep. The only thing is this song kind of drags on. And it doesn't recover from that drag for me. The second time hearing this, ten days later, I think that it is a little better. The drag still goes on, but it's not as bad. This really reminds me of that band Fun. that I heard from the commercials on YouTube.
2. Panic Rooms: This song starts out, for me, not so hot. I really was hoping to get swipe off my feet, in order to make up for that drag of the last track. #This song is only like 13 seconds shorter than track one. This song is just, no other way to say this, Bad. The beginning of the song kind of sounds like a panic. This song kind of reminds of These Animals. The name of this song kind of reminded me of Coldplay's song Don't Panic off Parachutes.  
3. Weathermen: There is nothing that really appealed to me in this song. This is the longest song, only by a couple seconds, but still. I don't like this. This just has no appeal to me. I feel like this is just to repetitive for me to like. The vocals in the mix are to in there. It sounds like there it this wall and everything is trapped within that wall. And nothing can get passed that wall. Somethings are louder than others, but thats only because they are fighting stronger. And his vocals are also just have this echo to it to where I personally can't understand a word the singer is saying. That song was just... it just went on.
4. Dear Daylight: This song is ok  There is nothing that is overly amazing about this track but it is still decent. There is this thing in the background that sounds like this siren, and it just has this odd feel to it that makes it irritate me. It kind of gets on my nerves, and it just is irritating. There is also this feel to it, that reminds me like they want to try to sound like a band that I'm not super fimilar with, but The Cure. The songs off Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me remind me of this Ep. But it's like, they are failing at it. This song just doesn't grab me.

Over all  I give this a 4.2/10. I think that this kind of dragged on. It would of been so much better if it were shorter. Not to mention track two was just bad. I hope these guys make another Ep but make it a lot better than this one. It wasn't that fun of a listen, for me at least.This is a "very indie" band that would be on the radio. One that I tend to find that I like to stay away from. They don't really sound like anything that I've never heard before and liked. One plus to this is it's only 22 minutes, but that is killed by the fact that these song are not very good. They have another ep called Plastic & Change Ep, I hope that one's better than this one.

Martina Matwiejczuk-Extended Play

OK heres the problem. My keypad on my computer stopped working. So I have to do this from my iTouch. So I apologies for that and hopefully ill do the The Beatles and Frank Zappa tomorrow. Now on to the reason I am reviewing this Ep. This is an artist that I found out about via FrostClick. I know someone who has the last name Matwiejczuk from school, so I decided to see if that was some type of relation to her. Well there is no relation and I decided to check into this Ep. And the girl looks attractive so I was pretty excited to listen to this. So I don't really know what to expect going into this.

1. Give Me A Reason: This gives me this '90s electronic feel to it. It kind of reminds me of the music I used to hear when I was like 5, in like 2000. I think that her voice is pretty cool. This then goes into an electronic beat that reminds me of '90s hip-hop. This would be a good song to have on a work out mixtape. I could see this being a song by No Way Josie

2. Kilimanjaro: This name makes me think of Africa. This has an African style beat to it. At least that is what it reminds me of. This song is actually pretty good once it sinks in. {7/10}
3. At Night: This song has a dub step beat in the beginning. This song reminds me of Lady Gaga. The way she sings is like her. This has autotune on it. It also reminds me of ET by Katy Scary. Her voice also kind of reminds me of The Weeknd. That is actually kind of funny, but not. This is a really cool song {8/10}
4. Searcher: I'm not as big on this song as I am on all the other songs. I don't really know for sure why I think that way. But it's probably because I think that it is... I don't exactly know? But I don't hate it {7/10}
5. Black is White: This song is probably my least favorite. I don't like this one much. I also don't really like how she sings this either.

Over all this Ep gets an 7.8/10. I didn't really have any certain expectation on this album. I wanted it to be good, but I didn't really think that it would be that amazing. This is like a not as good verison of No Way Josie! but without dub step. After listening to this and contemplating it, I think that this could grow on me. But for now I have to stay with the review I have given it.

The First - Dominique Grace

This is the first thing that I've ever heard by this girl. I found out about her from the daily FrostClick emails I get. I got this one a while back. I love that she instaspamed the album cover. And She is pretty cute so why not check this out. The cute thing hopefully won't at all affect the review

1. Struggle: This is one 2 and a bad, I actually think that it sounds pretty cool and has a good feel to the beginning of this Ep.
2. Can't You See: This is a piano driven song. Her vocals are pretty cool sounding. They kind of remind me of Adele. Not really, but kind of in a way.
3. Angel Grace: This song reminds me of a soft song. This song isn't that amazing. I actually am not that crazy about it. I don't really think that I can give it a good positive idea. It reminds me of a not so good Christie DuPree or now Merriment.
4. Lessons Of Life: I don't at all like this song. It has very crappy distorted vocal in the background. It is an Capella song and it isn't anything special.
5. Battle: This is basically like the first track. This isn't really that great. It doesn't keep my interest.

Over all I unfortunately give this a 3.5/10. I wasn't interested in this and probably won't check out any of her other stuff, if she released stuff in the future.

City By The Sound - The Sliders

I saw these guys through FrostClick. They are an Indie band from either New York or New Jersey, you can tell by the lyrics and the sound. I watched a video of these guys on the news and I didn't really like it that much. So I decided now to give the whole Ep a listen

1. The Sliders FrostWire Intro: I don't think that I need to give an explanation to this track.
2. City By The Sound: This is a notorious New York area indie band sound. These guys sound a little different and have more piano in it than most other I've heard but This isn't anything special. This song is ok, I think it is too upbeat. Like they try to be upbeat. And his voice sounds like it would be from Disney Channel. And the song sounds that way too. I can't stand the Disney Channel music and the way they make music.
3. Chasing After You: The vocals in the chorus of this song remind me of the vocals in the song Tempted by the UK band Squeeze. This song insn't band, I just don't really like it that much. I think that there is more of a newish feel to it? I don't really know how to better explain it.
4. Coming Around: This hurt this Ep. I didn't like the way it started out. The thing that keeps them from being another These Animals is the better quality and the vocals. Everything is basically the same. Yeah this song hurt this for me. I don't think there is a better explination. I like it, just not a ton.
5. Underground: This song is SHIT. I don't think that this does them any justice. The beginning of this says they are kids unground. Terrible idea, and it drives me nuts when they try to do that. I don't think that talking about being kids is a strong point of view. And it is so over used. In honesty the only bands that I think still make that idea work is Eisley and any project or thing that do with the DuPree family. The chorus has a break once and that part reminds me of Bang Carmaro's song Push Push (Lady Lightning) which is in Guitar Hero II. To top that thought there is a little bass riff, lasts seriously less than 5 seconds, that sounds like Bang Carmaro.
6. The Dreamer: This song isn't anything special either. I don't really think that there is much to say about this track, except the fact that it isn't impressive.

Over all I give this a 6.4/10. I liked it more than I did the first time. I'm not the biggest fan of this Ep but I think that it is decent. Someone else might like this more than I did, but that is really all there is to say. I wasn't very intrested in it, after the first two tracks. The vocals and the quality of the sound are the only thing that I think really differ from some other New York area indie bands I have reviewed. I would listen to, if they have another, album or ep by them. Its just under 20 minutes so if you want to give it a listen you should.

Visions Of Tall Girl EP - The Ugly Club

This is a band called The Ugly Club. These guys Are an indie band from New York. This is, if I am correct, first Ep. This Ep is only 13 minutes so I decided to listen to it twice. Oh how glad I was...

1. Visions Part I: This song kind reminds me of These Animals. They have the vocals and the popish sound that they do. This song is better quality in the way of more space than These Animals. The second time through I like it more than the first. The harmony vocals is the part that reminds me most of These Animals. I really like how the bass sounds. I think that the keys help the song out a lot.
2. Parks: This sounds like it would be, with out knowing any info about them, a New York Indie group. There is a part in this song where it reminds me of a mix of The Cure's song Just Like Heaven and blur. I think this song sounds pretty cool.
3. Visions Part II: This song is kind of like a reprise of part I. This exactly 1 minute shorter than part one. There is a part in this song where it is a type of saxophone in the song. After that breakdown it gains back up and is what an New York indie band sounds like.
4. Hope We Survive: This song has a type of eastern feel to it. It is intresting that they would do that . I like that this is different from the rest of the album. I don't think it's one of those "Weird Songs" on the album

Over all this Ep deserves a 8/10. This has progressively grown on me. I respect it more than the first time through. It isn't anything that amazing, I just thought it was something I enjoyed. I don't think this deserves a 9 or a 10. An 8 is good enough. I do suggest that if you are willing to, listen to this.

100 Altered Girls - Zoom On A Kill

This is a band that I found out about via FrostClick. I've searched their links and can't figure out if this is an Ep or not. The first song I'd ever heard by them was a songs called as a colab with someone called ˦eS‡∆iSL. I wasn't a fan of that song because it was too dubstep to it. On Bandcamp they tagged themselves as "8-bit, chiptune, dance" which I'd agree. This is a Mexican group and that's all I can really find about them. I do like the album cover a lot. I think that the colours in it look cool

1. Roses in Sadbrain: This song is dubstep. I don't really like dubstep.... like at all. Now this is ok because it isn't die hard Skril-shit.
2. We: I can see this as a kind of interlude inbetween the tracks.
3. ▲▲▲CiD Cloones▲▲▲:  This is dubstep. This could also be described as house music. There is a part in this where it sounds like the part where mario jumps.
4. Subhumanos & Vaginas de Leopardos: This is very 8-bit sounding to it. The beginning of the song reminds me of Mario or Link. There is a driving type of bass drum in there that makes this kind of a march.
5. La Droga Peligrosa CC: This song is kind of like the others, electronic and beats and not terrible.
6. Pokk  O▲O  Pokk: This be dubstep. This track irritates me that they wan't to make dubstep. I don't like that genre and I don't think there is much talent needed to make dubstep. There are voice samples in this song. There is a part at like 2:20 where there is a mexican band sample. The song then sounds like it has voices that fall apart to the fade.
7. Vintage Mecanic Love: The beginning of this song reminds me of like a sampled rock and roll christmas Trans Siberian Orchestra thing. I STRONGLY don't like them. This isn't that bad, like some of the others its just it isn't mind blowing for me. There is a lot more electronic guitar parts that come in on it and it ends in odd sounding way.

Overall I give this a 4.5/10. I didn't hate it, but I don't really like this music. It was short, so that a plus, but it wasn't redicaliously bad. The thing is that loops have pretty much lost their effect of boring me since 7 Skies H3 by The Flaming Lips. I talk about that a lot but come on, I lasted 12 hours of that bitch before I passsed out. Can't wait to review that fucker. I think that maybe someday I might return to this, but I know that I'm looking forward to reviewing these guys other albums I downloaded. Also can't wait to review Skrillex.

Crater Lake - Rogue Valley

This is a band that I found out via FrostClick, and as a part of my this for this month each Monday-Thursday will be a free download music, with the exception of anniversaries of albums, and Friday-Sunday will be music you have to purchase. This is by a band that has released 4 releases in the course of a year, this being the first (Hence the pale coloured ''I'' in the bottom right corner). No matter how this review turns out I will hope fully be reviewing their other 3 albums. Based off the album covers this seems like it's either a concept and each album is like a volume of it, or they just like using the same album covers. But based on the names of the other albums I could very easily see it being an intentional "Läther" type of thing. By that I mean it is the same album, just split into different releases, but these guys might of done a big quadruple album but released it separately into 4 albums. If so that makes sense these guys released their debut with "Crater Lake" and a debut album with 40+ songs (figure about 10-12 songs per average album) to take at once, especially if it is your first listen to a new band. I ultimately had to listen to this thing twice because I didn't think it was amazing but I could tell that 2 times through wouldn't be that bad. But you'll see why I could only do it once.

1. The Warming Moon: This song has an upbeat country type of feel to it. I think this song is ok it is in no way smazing but its ok. The vibe I get from this song hopefully does not foreshadow the rest of the album. If do then this wont be an amazing album. I think that the acoustic guitar in the back sounds cool. The thing is that "I've heard this before". 
2. Red River of the North: This song kind of reminds me of something Fleet Foxes-Esq but better quality recording. And also a little bit of These Animals, which self titled Ep I reviewed earlier. (You can find it by either clicking on the FrostClick link on the side or the Ep link on the side, or 2011 link). This isn't really anything that amazing so far. I have heard clips of a band called Fun. (there is a period in their name). And that sounds like something that would be on that album.
3. English Ivy: This song reminds me of a better quality High and Dry by the band Radiohead. I could see the being on 1995's The Bends, if they went back and rerecorded the songs for like a rerelease or something.
4. I-5 Love Affair: this song kinda of reminds me of the title track off Arcade Fire's 2010 The Suburbs. Just more of an acoustic version of this.
5. Hummingbird: when I first saw this song I thought of Neutral Milk Hotel. This could be a cover. I know they didn't write or record this song but that's what I think of. This is an ok son
6. Crater Lake: this reminds me of Coldplay. Espicslly the guitar and the vocals. And also Christmas music I'd hear at church. I'm not huge on Christmas music.c
7. Rope Swing Over Rogue Valley: this sounds like it it would be a song that I like. It just doesn't deliver enough or me to like it. It sounds like the rest of the songs I me.
8. Ursa Minor: this song is el samo
9. The Occidental Hotel: this is pretty much on the same boat as all the other songs.
10. The Planting Moon: I really have lost all interest in this album
11. Slack Water: why must there be more
12. El-Ay: I can honestly say that I spaced out at this song.

Overall I see this album as a 3/10. I think that I was expecting more out of it. It reminds me to much of Arcade Fire, Radiohead both of which I think are ok bands. I really like some indie music. The thing tough is that some indie bands sound too much alike. You can tell that this could be frustrating. This album is the kind of novelty music that I don't like.

No Way Josie! EP - No Way Josie!

This is a FrostClick band that I downloaded because I thought the chick reminded me of someone who goes to my school. Now I'm no fan of Electropop or Dance music but I strongly dislike Dub step. I am super under qualified to review music, let alone Electronic music. This vibe that I get from looking at them is one of they look like they are from the 80's or they are hipsters.

1. Frostwire Intro: This track is self explanatory. Just them talking for 19 seconds.
2. Want It Back: This song has a catchy beat to it. I could see this being a popular song if they had a chance for more light on them. I like this song, but I don't love it. That part that hurts this song for me is the dub step parts of the song. Beside the crub step parts this song is decent and I'd give it a {7.5}
3. Around The World: Ha this isn't a Daft Punk cover.... I thought it was funny. This song is also pretty decent except for the crub step parts in it. This has a beat of a song I could see them playing at summer school bus.
4. Let Me Show U: This and the track before flowed into each other. I like the beat on this one because it sounds like it is underwater. I think this song is catchy and I would give it a {8}
5. Nothing to Spare: This song is also pretty good. I like this one a lot to. It has a nice vibe to it.
6. Around The World (Cosmo Luxxx Arena Edit): This song starts out with hand claps. This reminds me very much of a new reggae/dub step/darker version of Sweet Dreams. This is good, except for the crub step, which is very prevalent in this song. I really like the very ending like that thing that ends the track.
7. Nothing to Spare (Wintry Mix Dub): I feared the name of this track because it has dub in the name and they already incorporated dub step into this Ep. And yes here it is. But it isn't so dub step as I though... for most of the track.

Overall the vibe of the Ep I give it a 7.6/10. I'm not a huge fan of this music but there are some decent tracks on this. If not for the crub step on this then it would of gotten higher ranking on it. I liked it a lot more than I expected I would. This does though go to show that you can't judge a book by its cover. This also reminds me of some of the music I remember listening, not by choice just overhearing, when I was like 4, 5 or 6... so 1998/1999/2000, something like that. I can defiantly see myself returning to this Ep.

The Dark Side of the Moon - The 8-bit Album

What better way to celebrate the one year shy of 40th anniversary of on of the greatest albums, and one of my most influential albums I've ever heard on me, that to upload and review the 8-bit version that I downloaded and the original 1973 Pink Floyd version of the album. I'm doing this review first and then I'm uploading the original after I get home from school at about between the time of 3:30pm-5:00pm. This bitch is going up at midnight. Now I have been willing to listen to this album because I don't have anything to do today so I'll try to pump as many album reviews as I can today for this next week. This weekend is gonna be separate, mainly because my friend Justin Stockton's birthday is March 2nd and I'll review So Far, So Good... So What for his birthday, which is my favorite Megadeth album. Now I don't know much about 8-bit songs, except for that they usually sound like Mario or Pokemon. So I'm playing this by ear and memories of the original 1973 Pink Floyd version. I'm also saving all my supre descriptive stuff for the actually original version review that's going up later. Sorry change of plan The original Pink Floyd version is going up the 8th, one week later, inorder to save room for a more meainigful album to me Eisley's The Valley.

1. Speak to Me/Breathe by bit_rat: The beginning of this song sounds like a copying machine, until the music comes in. The sound of this song works with this program and it sounds pretty good. I like how most all the instruments sound like real. And I think the vocals sound reminds me of something you'd hear on Pokemon video games for Gameboy.
2. On The Run by EvilWevil: This is probably on of the best songs for them to do this 8-bit version for because this song is primarily synthesizers.
3. Time by khades: This song is ok. I'm not a huge fan of this version of the song, at first. But it does get better after it starts playing the vocal parts
4. The Great Gig in the Sky by Rabato: Bitches step aside for one of my favs. The one thing is that this didn't live up to my expectation of the song.
5. Money by sergeeo: This song also didn't reach what I wanted but it was fun. Pretty danceable mix of the song.
6. Us and Them by Videogame Orchestra: This song is always a good one and this version isn't an exception. 
7. Any Colour You Like by Jason Vincion: This is ok. can't complain
8. Brain Damage by echosignal: This is a fun easy listening version of the song.
9. Eclipse by Brad Smith and Temp Sound Solutions: I really like this version. I don't know what it is about it I just really like this version of the song for some reason or other. It is just.... I don't know. It just gets me excited to review the original.

Over all I give this a 6.8/10. I don't know much about 8-bit music except for that fact that I'd love to review it again. This was fun listening to such an iconic piece of history, or the world and also myself, with a new take. I really enjoyed it and am going to look for more 8-bit versions of albums.

These Animals Extended Play

These Animals are a band that I found out via FrostClick. These guys are a New York Indie Pop Quartet. I've heard this Ep a couple of times. I think that the album cover to this is something different. When I first saw it I though it was some type of African Song things. Well it turned out that I was wrong. Now here is the review before I get to descriptive. The thing is that these guys have this ep up for free on Last.fm and also on their website. This is worth downloading and I'll tell you why, or not.....

1. Side By Side: This is the first song I heard by these guys. The first time I heard I couldn't get it out of my head. The intro drum roll sounds awesome, along with the intro riff. Which is followed by the vocals and a bass riff. The chorus is what somewhat reminds me of MGMT. The song isn't very complex, but it is that style. The post-chorus piano fill sounds pretty cool. Just wish it was a couple seconds longer. This is definitely my favorite song off the extended play.
2. Miles...: This is the second track. I don't really know how I feel with this. The first time I heard this I really liked it. I still think the Christmas feel they give this song is cool, and the harmony vocals in the chorus, its just that... it gets old. There is a cool sounding guitar solo and sleigh bells ringing through the whole track
3. Pocket: This is another song that for me was good at first. Then It just got boring. The beginning of this song reminds me of All The Young Dudes by Mott The Hoople. This song also reminds me of Christmas at the chorus with the sleigh bells or the tambourine. This is a very pop song, almost too pop.
4. A Word At Sea: The intro arpeggios sound cool. They are reverbed or something, there is a different singer on the track. His vocals remind me of a distant cousin, vocals wise, or Roger Waters. But then the normal singer sings the pre-chorus and chorus. There is a type of solo in there
5. Ebb And Flow: The intro of this song reminds me of Paramore but it is soon over after the singer comes in to the picture. During the chorus there is a heavier drum build up that ultimantly dies. The lead guitar has a riff, but it just doesn't do it for me.
6. Four To The Floor: This is the longest track. Why do you do this to me. Oh wait.... the drums and the intro to this song are way different than the rest of the album? They incorporated more non-Christmas sounding songs. With a cool bass riff and a solid drums. And there are hand claps, with a cool riff in between the verses. This track has potential but for me it doesn't quite reach that level.

Over all I give this a 7.9/10, at first, but after revisiting this I'll give it a 5/10. I like this a lot, but it eventually gets boring. I like that it's only 25 minutes because if it was a full length album then it would be hard to listen to more than once through. I think it is for anyone who likes a more pop version of MGMT and mainstream. This also gave me an overall feeling of Chrismas songs. I honestly dislike Christmas music because how many times have you heard Jingle Bells. But this is an Ep that didn't last me that long, it might last you longer. PS they have another album called Souvenir Sessions, which I'll review... eventually.

Pure Sappiness - STUB HORN

I found out about this artist from FrostClick email I got back a while ago. I had heard the first song and really liked it. I don't really know much about these guys and I'm too lazy to look up a lot more. I know that he has a free download of his album, legal, at bandcamp. Using my best judgement this album is more of an Ep. I'm also going to do his Out of Thin Air - B-Sides & early demos thing next week.

1. Come With Me: This is a good first song to start of an Ep. I think that this reminds me of something off Nevermind or Superunknown. This song is a catchy song and is what originally made me want to listen to this song. I really like this and it is good. Now it's not as cool as it was the first time as it is now the 10th, 11th time. I still think that it's cool and sounds pretty good.
2. No More: This is more of a better quality wise sontg off Bleach. The intro or the song at least. After the intro he starts having a higher pitch voice talking to him like it's a girl. It's a kind of corny version of Grunge. The vibe I get from this guys is that he isn't so serious about his music and did this for fun.
3. Out Of Time: This song is still another grunge feeling song. This one has more distorted vocals that sound like he's talking over a phone. This is by far the longest song being 4:21. The second longest is 3:20 and the shortest is 1:40. This song seems to drag on and gets boring. The other songs were better because they were short and to the point. This songs just seem's like one of those songs that make it hard for me to like grunge #certain Alice And Chains type songs. The ones where they are moody and depressing.
4. Make It Real: This makes up for it. This song is up beat like Come With Me. I like how he went from the longest song to the second shortest song on the album. This is different sounding, but just as good, as Come With Me.
5. Earthquake in Town: This is the second longest song on the album. This song is more of one that I could see being on a Tony Hawk Pro Skater soundtrack to the video game. The riff has a type of different feel to it than all the other tracks and the song is different. More mean and agressive lyrically and instrumentation wise.
6. Alone: This song starts out with an instrumental that sounds somewhat up beat. This reminds me of Monkey Wrench by the Poo Fighters (Foo Fighters). There is a very reverb/flanger/wah-wah distorted guitar solo in the song.
7. Chicken In The Kitchen: This song reminds me of Primus. There is no particular reason it just does. This song is another song that is completely different than all the other songs on the ep. This is has another very distorted vocals and guitar. and ends ubruply, like Rock You Like A Hurricane. Not soundwise just the way it is.

Over all I'll give this a 6.75/10. I liked it but I don't LOVE grunge. I think that this is a kind of joke version of dare I say Post-Grunge. I like this a lot, I mean a lot, more than Seether or Three Gay's Grace (I saw them at Uproar 2011 and they were terrible). I don't like that, but I do, it's so clear. I wish it wasn't so stereo. I have a problem when some things often sound too open.

In Today Already Walks Tomorrow - Sleepmakeswaves

I don't really know anything about this band. And neither do you probably. I'm going to educate you, along with myself, about this band and my opinion on this album. I'm gonna start doing this more often in order to listen to more of my music free music, legal of course, on my computer. Alright this is an Instrumental Australian band and released 3 Eps and a full length that came out last year. I like the album cover and what I heard is pretty nice and sounds cool.

1. I Will Write Peace On Your Wings And You Will Fly Over The World: Alright this song starts out with an atmosphere in the background. Then a grumbling bass comes in along with a guitar riff and drums. This song is pretty enjoyable. After the 1:45 intro the song goes into a arpeggio sounding guitar part that is accompanied by pretty acoustic/Spanish guitar and atmospheric synths. The song progressively begins to build. During that build up there is a drum that comes in like a marching beat along with a bass beat and it all goes together until it climaxes to then stops, then restarts at a new level with more going on in the song. There is what seems to sound like choir type vocals in the background as this 7 minute epic starts off the Ep. The song flows with this electronic thing carrying it to the end.
2. Exits To Nowhere: The guitar in this song has a similar sound to the guitar at the beginning of the last song. This also has an atmospheric opening feel to it. The thing that I don't like is that so far, knowing that these guys are instrumental, that this would be better if this was more spread out. I'm afraid that this will ruin it for me. I could see this song being later on an album or the beginning of a double album like side 3 but not the second track of an Ep.
3. One Day You Will Teach Me To Let Go Of My Fears: This song is a little different at the beginning. This is more bass driven to start the song. This song builds with this bad ass guitar riff into another somewhat similar, song backing atmosphere to the others before it on the Ep. I feel like these guys are trying to hard to make this sound big. I know that this is a good sound but still. I don't really think that there is much differences, beside strings, on this song.
4. So That The Children Will Always Shout Her Name: Yet another song. The drums sound cool but there is no actual real thing met. The song has some what sound like horns. wooo :(
5. It's Dark, It's Cold, It's Winter: There is what seems to be someone writing with chalk in the background. This song is a little different, because it has more guitar instead of bass and drums. This song also seems more electronic. The shit thing is that doesn't last very long, because it builds up. But after the build up it goes down.
6. What We Cannot Speak Of Must Be Passed Over In Silence: This song is the ending. Guess what no changes either. :) #jk. If anything this was a good music to get something done to. Like an sound to just pass up and stuff. Like music that shouldn't be paid attention to.

Over all this is a 4.5/10. I liked it but I could tell that the album would be a bore when I found out it was instrumental and when I heard the second track. That's bad. The songs seem to be structured the same way and they could be the same song, just different variations. I think the album cover paints a picture for this album. I like the songs but It would be better with vocals and a full album. The builds on this album are not noticalbe. Like I had to piece together the parts to realize the build up was over and it was the climax or the part where it built up to. Want to listen to again, just not all that willing to waste another 37 minutes of my life with this ep. Hopefully they will make another this and it will be good. Who knows all I know is that this isn't a good way to start the hopefully tri weekly, or even weekdays, segment of these free music reviews. -I am going to re-review this after I do a review of Lift Yer Skinny Little Fingers Like Antennas to Heaven by Godspeed You! Black Emperor.-
