The Unknown - Dillon

So over this winter break I heard a shit ton of albums, 93 to be exact. Majority were albums I have been putting off or have not been in the mood for playing. While very few were favorite album material (The Black Saint and the Sinner Lady, In the Nightside Eclipse, Eric Dolphy in Europe Vol. 2, Unknown Pleasure, Outward Bound) some were very bad/bland (Charles Mingus with Orchestra, Live at Brixton, Significant Other, Red Hot from Alex) and most others were just okay (Greg Howe, Reasonable Doubt, Strictly Personal, The Chronic). Since school has started I will have significantly less time to being listen to records, though I do listen to each album and look for things that stick out to revisit. This is one of the albums I heard during the month long binge. This is also the sophomore effort by Dillon. I found out about her a few years ago with her first album. I think she's kind of cute and I kind of sat on this review. By the time I got to listening to the album I was just hoping she isn't another Lea Michelle or any other cute girl devoid of anything interesting in her music. Well see what my findings were directly below. 

1. The Unknown: This opens with a piano ballad introduction. So far her vocals aren't half band and I like the chords. I don't love them, but I do like what I'm hearing. Then a bass line comes in and this sort of gets a bit trippy with the electronics. I don't hate this song, but this doesn't really do a ton for me you know.
2. A Matter of Time: This opens in a similar fashion of the last song, except the vocals and electronics come in at the same time. This is very piano led though also. The beat kind of reminds me of a heartbeat a bit. I mean this is again okay, but it isn't blowing my mind at all.
3. You Cover Me: Three for three, this sounds very similar to the other songs. Like there isn't much substance here. I do like the patch that is used at the ending of this song, but it isn't really doing much for me outside of that specific detail.
4. Forward: Is what I wish women would be with me... hahahahahahahahaha. That terrible joke was more entertaining to me than this song happens to be. This also feels a lot like the last songs structure. Listen to the repetition of the chorus.
5. In Silence: This is just getting harder for me to take serious isn't it. Honestly, so far this is just warranting of an EP. Really I am kind of lost for words, I guess subconsciously I was supposed to put this off.
6. 4ever: This is more of the same, and again I don't hate it but I'm not getting anything really out of it.
7. Evergreen: So at this point I left the album and came back hours later, only to be as bored and uninterested if not more. Like why not make something more interesting, you can make ambient music and keep in interesting. Eno has done it, I liked The Solitude of Prime Numbers, Ambient 3 is solid, Delirium Cordia is phenomenal. There are people who have made spare albums and made them great. Possibly bad example, but The Residents have made multiple. A better example would be Klaus Schulze and company have all done minimal stuff and made it great. Like even if there was more variety this could be better but the songs are such copy paste repetition. Piano, Vocals, Bland electronics. Repeat the chorus multiple times. Verse chorus verse.
8. Into the Deep: Refer to the last track. I think her voice is okay, but it's kind of reminds me of one of the singers on the radio, Alissa Cara?
9. Don't Go: It sounds like a sample is being played backwards, but sadly nothing really happens with this.Add to it, make it go somewhere. I mean, yes if does grow, but please do it different than the rest of the album. There is potential I hear in this song if they added strings. At the one part that would sound great with it. Around the last 2 minutes or so.
10. Lightning Sparked: So I realized what I needed to enjoy this album, either start smoking pot or get drunk.
11. Nowhere: I guess this seems a bit darker, but it's just kind of bland and annoying and has over stayed it's welcome at this point. The ending though is kind of good, I wonder if Laurie Anderson inspired this track.
12. Current Change: I like some of the textures but not enought to say I'm a fan, but I guess I can appreciate it.

Overall I have to give this album a 4/10. This album was very bland. I like some of the sounds and the ambience, but I feel that you could combine theses into longer songs with different sections. In fact some felt like the same song. Honestly this isn't terrible, and I think this could be fleshed out into something great, but I feel there isn't really anything here. Hell Blonde did something like this but much better. Also Floating into the Night is a freaking solid records in this Ambient Pop style. I know this was a very bland review but sadly I had very little to say and I figured I would clean out the draft folder.

Stay Gold - First Aid Kit

This is the third album by First Aid Kit. I listened to the LP front to back the day it came out. As I did with Lazaretto and Ultraviolence and The Hunting Party. To be honest, this is slightly not on par with those subpar albums. This is slightly lower.

1. My Silver Lining: They are kind of cute. There's one thing. Also where is the Man and the Mountain. Also is there a play book that can help make this track better?
2. Master Pretender: Question, is this guy an expert at exploding also. 
3. Stay Gold: Stay hopeful Danny, you can do it. 
4. Ceder Lane: I've heard of the lake, not the lane though.
5. Shattered & Hollow: I wonder how Sleepy Mick & Phil are? He's getting older, they probably need a naps.
6. The Bell: Lou Reed is a Stupid Man in 1979's The Bells.
7. Waitress Song: What?
8. Fleeting One: I wonder if this is a cover of the Children of Bodom collab with Fleet Foxes.
9. Heaven Knows: What, this album was made?
10. A Long Time Ago: In a galaxy far away. 

Overall I have to give this album a 3/10. My biggest problem is it gets boring fast. Also there aren't any surprises here at all. Hebrews I think was an all around better album then this, and it kinda sucked. To be completly Honest I began tuning ithis out upon first listen. 

Louder - Lea Michele

This is the debut solo album by Lea Michele. Now I know that I may not seem like a pop person, but I do like some Gaga and Katy Perry. Not enough to say I'm a fan, but I do like some of their stuff. I also enjoy listening to some T Swift sometimes also. After being excited to do this review, it hit me.... she's a member of Glee. So, I swallowed my pride and did this review to the best that I could. You know, without being an asshole. I tried to be as serious and open minded as I could be. So yeah..... But one thing I wanted to say was I tagged producers who produced things that I plan on reviewing in the future.

1. Cannonball: There is a 90's type of feeling that I'm getting from this reverb that is present. This song isn't bad, but it isn't that great. I don't think I'll probably revisiting this track. It's pop, and I could see people liking this who enjoy pop. But you know, not me.
2. On My Way: Like I mentioned earlier, I damned myself and I have to do this review. This is the type of song I would listen to in a movie, and listen to but not the whole album at once. It doesn't matter how cute the girl is, she ain't worth it. I feel like this is her atempt at a Wrecking Ball.
3. Burn With You: Well, I did this and the prior track in the same day. What I learned is that I can't do that. Also this track is deeper than Going To Hell........ hahahahahaah.
4. Battlefield: Love Is A Battlefield right? I be that's gonna be the theme of the song. This is just ok, and you know, kind of like the other songs.
5. You're Mine: This supposedly contains a sample of You Only Live Twice, since that's one of my favorite songs ever it better be good. And to be completely honest, this doesn't sounds that much different from the other tracks. The sample is kind of cool, but it doesn't really live up to what it should. You're using a song by the great Nancy, and the song isn't anything special.
6. Thousand Needles: This track kind of slipped through that cracks, and I didn't retain anything from it.
7. Louder: I'm not huge on the auto tune in this track. If it's not autotune then the effects on her voice. And honestly, I could see the radio appeal, but not for me.
8. Cue The Rain: This is an ok song, but it isn't that different from any other track. If anything it's inline with Foster The People/Mylo Xyloto vocal harmonies.
9. Don't Let Go: At this point I've run out of positive things to say.
10. Empty Hands: ......................
11. If You Say So: This is kind of a thought less pop album that isn't in anyway deep.

Overall I have to give this album a 4/10. She is a good singer, I'll give her that. But on top of that, there isn't much more I can say that is positive other then it's also her first album. So there, I was open minded and honest. She is hot though, so that's a plus. Trust me, the next review will be a 10 (Hopefully). I not only know the album, but I love the hell out of it and am almost done with the review. I'll add the producers If they are on other albums I review in the future. One thing I do plan on doing is making this review today, then another tomorrow and then I plan on one weekend doing a bunch and then posting them over the course of a month.

Forever Ep - Haim

This is the debut release, by the LA band Haim. It is composed of 3 sisters, Este, Alana, and Danielle. They formed in '06 but released their first release in 2012. Now when I first heard of them, I was like they are kind of cute, why not check them out. Then they got bigger and I finally sat down yesterday to listen to this Ep. Damn! I was like, Fuck! These are sisters, they are all sexy, the youngest is only 4 years older than me, they can make good music, and they seem to have decent personalities. So if there is any group to have a crush on, its Haim. And this shows how much I pay attention, they are backing vocals on the track LVL by A$AP Rocky off his debut album Long.Live.A$AP. Actually, Alana, the one on the far left? reminds me a little of Misty Mundae.

1. Better Off: The beginning of this song reminds me of The Chapin Sisters. This whole song kind of reminds me of them. Minus the "Fucked Me Up" line. I read that theses guys were compared to Fleetwood Mac. I could kind of see that. And with that in mind, this song reminds me a little of The Chain. 
2. Forever: Alana, I think she's the singer, well anyway, remind me of Christie off You Make Loving Fun. Beside the vocals though, this song kind of reminds me of like something I would see if I were to watch MTV in the '80s. This is a very fun song. This song is a song that I could imagine listening to over the summer. The Ep was released in July, but still. This song just feels like I could hold a lot of memories of your youth.
3. Go Slow: As the title suggests, this song is slower than the others. This song reminds me a little of The Police. They way that this seems kind of reggae, but not Bob Marley. Like a hint of it. This isn't my favorite song, but I think it kind of grows on me. This also kind of seems like a song from Lion King with the atmosphere. Idk
4. Forever (Dan Lissivik Remix): I don't care for this, but it's a remix. So I don't think very much of it, you know.

Overall I have this give this a 8.5/10. I liked this a lot. It was a first time through and I really liked it. I really think that I am going to follow this band. Not only are they sexy, their music is kind of too. Maybe it's just me, but that's me. I WILL buy that iTunes Festival Ep when I get a chance to. I can't wait :) And lets pray to God for a full length sometime soon.

The Chapin Sisters E.P.

This is the debut release by the sister trio known as The Chapin Sisters. They are related to the Harry Chapin, you know, Cats in the Cradle and the silver spoon. I think they are his nieces. Well anyway, I saw them live when I saw them open for Eisley in February, 2011. I didn't think much of them until after a while and coming back to the group. Note: When I saw them the one left making them the duo. One more note, I haven't been doing many reviews because I've been getting into Jazz. And Jazz is over my head, that's why I'm trying to get into it.

1. Shady River: I think that this song kind of sounds like the others. I don't think there is anything special in this song that stands out. I'm not putting the song down, but I think it's consistent with the other songs.
2. Don't Love You: This song has a different girl singing this track than the last one. This song is a decent song. 
3. Hey: This is another pretty decent song. I like it.
4. Girlfriend: This EP doesn't have a very wide variety of sounds. The songs are basically the same. So to say. Two is more of a ''mature'' album I guess. There is more experimentation, ie Digging A Hole and other stuff too.
5. Bird Song: I like the arpeggios and the finger picking on this song. That's part of what I like about this group. They finger pick really good. At least I think so. This reminds me of Palm Tree on their 2nd album. But less arranged or worked out. Like a demo version.
6. Long Journey: This song is more country than folky. I don't care for this one.
7. Toxic: This is one pretty cool cover of the Britney Spears song. They played this song when I saw them. I like the way they did this song. This is definatly the best track. Thought I do like Don't Love You and Bird Song.

Overall I have to give this a 6/10. I think it's Ok, but I don't think it's amazing. I haven't heard their Lake Bottom LP or the other 2 Eps, but I have heard all of Two. I wish I'd bought that Cd when I saw them. It's actually pretty good. I think this is an, you like it or you don't.

Red - Taylor Swift

This is the 4th album by country singer songwritter Taylor Swift. On this album I wasn't sure what to expect. I didn't think much of the We Are Never Getting Back Together single. I actually kind of didn't like it at all. I was nervous to see if the album would be this way. So I am now, today, listening to it for the first time in it's whole. I might listen to it more than once, but I am not sure yet. I have to hear it first. One thing I noticed is that a shit load of people produced for this album. The last album Speak Now only had Swift and Nathan Chapman. On This one there are a total of 9 people credited, one being an executive producer, as producers for this album. And some of the producers have really only produced pop shit. I don't have a good feeling about this, but I'll tough it out... I hope. I do like how her style has changed, as in appearance. I think she looks better with straight hair and not dresses and a ton of make up. I actually think girls look better like the way she does now than almost any other way.

1. State of Grace: This song starts out pretty promising. I actually think that this is a pretty cool song. It reminds me of The Cure. I know I compare things to that band, but I remember hearing Just Like Heaven a ton while in the car with my Dad. This the backing vocals during the chorus remind me of Eisley. I like the bass sound in the song. I also like how this isn't so country? This song also reminds me a lot of the 2005 Paramore album All We Know Is Falling. That's not my favorite Paramore album, but I still think it's a decent album.
2. Red: This song starts out, before she starts singing, with what reminds me of '90s music. This song is kind of like a part 2 of the last song. There isn't much of a difference. Her voice is kinda dubbed weird. By that I mean it kind of sounds like its a loop, but a short thing looped. Either that or Auto-tuned. But overall I still like this song.
3. Treacherous: This song reminds me if the last album. To be honest, this is doing well thus far.This also reminds me of 2009's Misguided Ghosts by Paramore. The "do do do, do do do" reminds me of a song I can't quite think of. This is probably my favorite song on the album thus far.
4. I Knew You Were Trouble.: When I first heard the intro I was afraid. I heard that's he had dubstep on this album, an well the way the song was it could. It wasn't a stretch for it to be there. I don't think that the drop is Skrillex but it isn't bad. I kind is f like the song. The more I hear it the more it grows on me.
5. All Too Well: This song kind of reminds me of the last album also. I like the fact that she kept some of the stuff that was on her last album. Also that she isn't all out Fearless on this. I don't know why, but this reminds me of her county friends that are popular, but I think this song. Have you ever heard the song Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue by Toby Keith. I don't care for that song, but it reminds me of it. I also kind of hear a little synth in the background.
6. 22: All I'm gonna say is this sing is a load if bullshit. I really can't support it are compliment it that much. The beginning of the song...... This is like a Katy Perry's Taylor Swift. I kind of respect that she had a song Fifteen and now 22. But I know how to count.
7. I Almost Do: This song reminds me of like a solo version of the song I Wish by Eisley. Especially at the chorus of the song. Like when it going "Ooooow, Oooooww."
8. We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together: This song is an ok song, if it was acoustic. Like if she did it alone with her vocals and an acoustic performance of the song.
9. Stay Stay Stay: This reminds me of the CVS commercials. I like this song though. It's a pretty cool song. I think she uses a ukulele. I really like the way the bass sounds.
10. The Last Time: This song apparently features Gary Lightbody of Snowpatrol. I have no idea who that is, but I do know that there is a Stones song called The Last Time. 
11. Holy Ground: This is an ok song. I didn't really think much of it.
12. Sad Beautiful Tragic: This song sounded in the beginning like Linkin Park's song Powerless. Like the first 3 seconds with that open, before the instruments. This is another Ok song. 
13. The Lucky One: This another OK song. I think they are being a little too consistent.
14. Everything Has Changed: This track features Ed Sheeran. I don't know who he is, but I've heard of him before. I guess it says he co-wrote this with Taylor. I think that this is another Ok song. It is kind of starting to kill the album for me.
15. Starlight: This song kind of makes me wonder if there is gonna be any dubstep. I like how its set up lik its gonna drop but kind of changes up a little. I'm note huge on this, but its a little different from the last few songs.
16. Begin Again: This song is a decent ending to the album. I actually like this. I'm suprised, but for some reason I feel like this might become a favorite of mine.

Overall I have to give this a 7/10. This was a lot better than I expected. I planned on not liking this at all. The reason was because of the more commercial shit. We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together is a good song. But the album version kind of sucks. If she did a pure acoustic version that'd be awesome. This album sounded like a country-esque Paramore, for at least a lot of the songs. I plan on getting this CD. No matter what I was gonna buy this Cd, but yeah. I think some of the songs dragged on a little. I also am gonna listen to the deluxe tracks, but not now. I'll give a short sentence or two about them after I hear them.

Roadkill - Meanstreak

This is the, to my knowledge, the only album by all female thrash metal band Meanstreak. I found out about this band via looking for "bad album covers" on the web. This is actually a pretty funny album cover after finding out that they were a girl band. This album was released in 1988, and to my luck the whole thing is up on Spotify for me to listen to.

1. Roadkill: This song is a good intro to an album. I swore that this was a mans vocals. It kind of reminds me of a Priest off their 1991 album Painkiller. This song actually somewhat reminds me of that song. The singer also kind of reminds me of the singer from Fates Warning.
2. Searching Forever: This song kind of reminds me of Iron Maiden but before around 1981, 1982. This also kind of reminds me of Judas Priest on their album Stained Class.
3. Snakepit: This has this kind of Egyptian intro to it. The riff is kind of cool sounding and there is this rattle that sounds like a snake. I don't know why, but this song kind of reminds me a little of the song Shout at the Devil. The way the riff is in the verses. He voice also kind of reminds me a little of Halestorm. I actually saw them at the first Uproar when it was here in Chicago. About halfway thorough the song it speeds up until there is a drumfill and the normal speed comes back for a solo. I think that the tone is pretty cool sounding. And the girl can shred.
4. Nostradamus: This is a pretty solid song. It's kind of  like the last few. It's pretty cool sounding.
5. It Seems to Me: For some reason this riff reminded me of Aerosmith but on one of their older albums. The vocals on this song reminds me of 1986's Wasted Years by Maiden.
6. Lost Stranger: Not much to say about this song. It's kind of the same.
7. The Warning: This kind of further reminds me of Fates Warning. The name of the song is The Warning. This song actually kind of reminds me of them. I think the name is appropriate.
8. The Congregation: I like how the bass sounds heavy on this. This really reminds me of Maiden.

Overall I have to give this a 7.5/10. If you like 80's metal then you'll probably like this album. Even thought they are an all girl band they don't really sound like it. If you like metal you will probably like this album a lot. Trust me, I would know. I don't really care for female metal singers, but this is an exception. The solos didn't WOW me, but they were pretty solid.

The Sister - Marissa Nadler

This is the first time that I've ever heard of this girl. She is based in Boston and released her first album in 2004. I found out about her via ListenBeforeYouBuy. I remember when, right before the album was released earlier this year, seeing the choice to stream the album. I think that I don't exactly know what to expect, especially since the album are is kind of cool. I think that it would be cool to have on vinyl to see the album cover. I'm not saying that I'm gonna buy the vinyl because I haven't heard it yet. I can honestly say I don't really know anything about Marissa except that she has like 6 other albums. Well lets get down to it.

1. The Wrecking Ball Company: The beginning of this song kind of reminded me of an acoustic version of Because by The Beatles and Wicked Games by The Weeknd. I really like her voice in this song. So far this is pretty decent album. But you can't judge an album off one song. After the rest of the instruments come in it reminds me of The Chapin Sisters on their second album Two. I don't know exactly what song, but one of the songs on that.
2. Love Again, There Is a Fire: This kind of reminds me of a more Eisley-esque version of Sucré. They way Marissa is singing kind of reminds me of Stacy's voice. It also kind of reminds me of the Eisley Family Christmas EP they released in 2010 for free. And added two new tracks for Christmas 2011. 
3. Christine: This kind of reminds me of The Chapin Sisters cover of Toxic on their Shady Lake Ep. It also kind of reminds me of the legendary song Elvis tried to buy off Dolly Parton..... Jolene. So far this thing is awesome.
4. Apostle: Sorry I kind of got lost in the song. It is a very pretty song. I think that it's pretty cool sounding too. It's kind of like how I get lost in the Elliott Smith 1995 self titled album
5. Constantine: For some reason I feel like I kind of am hearing Dolly Parton singing this song. Either her of Olivia Newton-John. Not necessarily their style of music, but their vocals. This also kind of reminds me of Irish Music. I'm Irish and I can't stand that music, I try hard to even listen to Van Morrison. But I like this song. This also reminds me a little of 2005's Room Noises by Eisley.
6. To a Road, Love: The way she is singing reminds me a ton of Stacy on the Sucré song, I wanna say The Cliff Waltz. I could be wrong so I'm gonna check. Actually it almost reminds me more of Wake the Earth by The Honey Trees off their 2009 Wake the Earth ep.
7. In a Little Town: I don't really know what to say about this
8. Your Heart Is a Twisted Vine: This sounds like basically what I said before.

Overall I have to say this should rightfully get a 8.5/10. This kind of reminds me of a mix of The Chapin Sisters with Eisley with Merriment (just a little) and probably every other Female Singer Songwriter that is in the field of like "Indie Folk". I don't know why it took me so long to listen to this. Box of Ceder is the Record Label. Shit man, they have a Vinyl version of this. I know what I'm doing when I get a credit card/debit card. I do feel like this will probably only grow on me.

Waves & The Both of Us - Charlotte Sometimes

This is the debut full length album, following the self titled EP released earlier that year, by New Jersey raised Charlotte Sometimes. One of her artists that sound similar to her is Dia Frampton. Well That's what I've listened to. But I love that she was on season 2 of The Voice and was eliminated at the first live round.

1. Loosing Sleep: This song starts out with a type of pop song that I kind of remember being on the radio around 2008. I don't really care much for it though.
2. How I Could Just Kill A Man: This song is another songs that I could see being on the radio at that time. I don't care much for this song either.
3. Waves And The Both Of Us: This song actually kind of, in a odd enough way, reminds me of Rihanna's voice a little at parts in the song.
4. Sweet Valium High: I don't understand why she had the word Fuck in her song. There was no need for it at all. It bugs me when people swear for appearance. To make themselves look cool, or not as much of a sweet girl or a lame guy, they drop the f bomb in songs.
5. Ex Girlfriend Syndrome: This song was kind of another lost cause with me. I didn't find this song interesting.
6. AEIOU: ......... Actually this song kind of reminds me of Kelly Clarkson.
7. Toy Soldier: After taking a break to eat in the middle of this album, this song isn't as bad as I though it'd be. I'm still not huge on it, but I don't love this. I might listen to this song again.
8. This Is Only For Now: This song sounds like the backing music is kind of skipping until the other sounds join in with the guitar.
9. In Your Apartment: This song is kind of pretty in the beginning. It sounds like she borrowed parts of the songs Children of the Damned off Iron Maiden's 1982 classic Number of the Beast, and some Ennio Morricone song that would be used in on of the Clint Eastwood movies. But only in the beginning of the song.
10. Army Men: I am excited that this is coming to an end. But this song isn't terrible.
11. Build The Moon: This song kind of reminds me a little of a less good version of jar of hearts.
12. Pilot:..........

Overall I have to give this a 3/10. I didn't care for this at all. I gave it a try and I didn't think that it was for me. But I do have to say that I could see, if she makes music that is current right now, her being on the radio. Theses songs reminds me of 2008 radio songs and songs that would be on Disney Channel. Both of which I don't care for. I realized this album was a lost cause by track 2. If you don't like the first track, you probably won't like anyother song. Honestly, I was waiting for this album to end so I cold finish up the channel ORANGE review. Who knows maybe I'll return to this album.

No Secrets - Carly Simon

I'm been completely and utterly obsessed with Carly Simon. I've tried to listen to all of her 70's album, and plan on listening to her 80's and 90's and 2000's stuff to. This is her third album and this has one of the sexiest album covers I've ever seen, in my opinion. She is fricken beautiful, not so much today, but this picture is one of my favorite album covers of ever. Nobody Does It Better is my cousin's favorite Bond theme. And after hearing it a couple times and seeing The Spy Who Loved Me, with the beautiful Barbra Bach, who is the wife of Ringo since 1980, I've been obsessed with Carly's discography.

1. The Right Thing To Do: This song starts out as an easy listening song. I could see this being played in a bar scene in a movie. I could actually see this being a Bond theme. This song is a pretty song that also kind of reminds me of Linda's vocals and the music to Get On The Right Thing off Wings 1973 sophomore effort Red Rose Speedway. This song came out first though.
2. The Carter Family: This song reminds me of Red Rose Speedway but without Paul's vocals. Kind of like a cover off that album. It's actually bizarre how similar theses albums stylistically sound and resemble each other.
3. You're So Vain: The song starts out with this bass riff thing. It surprised me when I first heard it, and I thought that it was a different song. Its kind of creepy sounding. But then the song starts up. This song is a really cool sounding. It's a country song, but it has this Bad Ass feeling to it. It's supposedly about one of three people. I don't know exactly if that's true, but I love the idea about it. And during the chorus if you listen you can hear an uncredited Mick Jagger backing vocals. The lyrics in the song reference a solar eclipse. That's insane to me. Most country artist would reference like a beer or a breakup, nothing really special. She referenced a fricken' Solar Eclipse and where it occurred at. The more I hear this song the better it gets.
4. His Friends Are More Than Fond Of Robin: This song is a pretty song. It is more soft and pretty sounding than You're So Vain. There is this synthesizer sound that sounds really sweet. I don't really know how to explain it more than just it's a pretty sounding song.
5. We Have No Secrets: This song starts out, and kind of reminds me of, T Swift. The guitar part. This is more of an upbeat song, but it's kind of eerie to me. Especially since it is upbeat and its about sharing secrets in a relationship, and that she didn't want to know all of them. I think that's a neat angle to look at. I don't know anyone else who has a song about sharing secrets, and kind of regretting knowing some of them.
6. Embrace Me, You Child: I think that this song is a pretty beginning. It kind of reminds me a little of the beginning of Uncle Albert off 1971's Ram by Paul & Linda McCartney. Just the beginning though. I think that the chorus to this song is really cool to. I think that the strings help make this song sound calm. The line "The Devil Doesn't Get To You" in the chorus is sick, I love the way it does that. This song lyrics are pretty to. This song has a type of epic feeling. But the level of epic isn't achieved as much as it could have been
7. Waited So Long: This is a honky tonk vibe to it. It kind of reminds me a little of Honky Tonk Woman. I think that the way her vocals sound in the chorus is pretty cool. I guess it says that James Taylor did backing vocals for this song. And supposedly James Taylor is one of the three in the You're So Vain song could be about.
8. It Was So Easy: This is a sweet and cute little ditty. I could see a little kid walking in the park or something like that happening in a movie to this song. Like a possible reflection about her childhood. I think its a cute song, and I like it for that.
9. Night Owl: Funny enough, you know how I've made some Red Rose Speedway comparisons, well Paul and Linda actually did backing vocals for this track. James Taylor made another appearance to this album. He wrote this song. This is a cool song. I think that James did a good job on this. You can tell Paul and Linda in there. This is a gospel type of song. This song reminds me a little of Roadrunner by Bo Diddley. Just the way the chorus is and the song is. I don't not like the song for that, but I think that it's a good song. Not amazing though.
10. When You Close Your Eyes: This song is a good way to wrap up the album. I think that this is the best way to end an album like this. I think that this is one of my favorite songs on the album. I don't think that it's an AMAZING ending though. I wish there was a tiny bit more excitement going on here. This is a pretty song though.

Overall I have to give this album a 7/10. I like this thing. This is the 2nd time I've heard this in full. And I think it's better the second time through. This is a solid listen, and a decent album. I don't think that you have to necessarily like country to like some songs on this album. I think it's funny that I've made a few Wings comparisons. Another funny fact is that this album has Klaus Voormann on bass for all but 3 tracks on the album. Klaus helped out John, George, and Ringo, among other artists. He even did the artwork to The Beatles Anthology's and 1966 album Revolver's album cover. I am still going to buy this album on vinyl though. Maybe over time this will grow on me more.

21 - Adele

This is the big album from last year from Adele, or as I call her Addle. This is her second album, and it's named after her age. Now at first I didn't really like Rolling in the Deep that much. But it eventually grew on me. I don't think that I need to explain that she's from England and that her first album was 19 and released in 2009. So two years later, 19+2= Her new album 21. I remember hearing Chasing Pavement when it first came out, and I wanted to murder her, not seriously, but you know. I thought that was one of the most obnoxious songs I'd heard at that point in my life. I heard it when she was on SNL. Well I have had this review sitting in the backburner but now here it is, Adele's 2011 Grammy Award Winning 21. FYI I am working on Sgt. Pepper's to upload at the end of the month, kind of like last month's Let it Be.

1. Rolling in the Deep: This was the first big song. This was also a different musical direction from her first album. The guitar in the beginning of this song sounds really cool. I like this song, and I was surprised that I actually liked this song. This song has everything that I feel it needed to be a good song, an awesome voice and singing, cool instrumentation, and the choir in the background makes it sound cool. The one thing I don't like is that this is probably the only time a songs is like this on this album. Stylistically, not exciting.
2. Rumour Has It: This sounds a shit load like Amy Winehouse. I'm not even kidding. If you have ever heard one of her songs, beside Rehab, then you can see the similarity. There is obviously not as much unperfectedness. This sounds like a cleaner verison of a song by her. I don't know how to explain that anymore. I think that the breakdown or bridge is really cool with the piano and the strings, but the chorus drives me nuts.
3. Turning Tables: This song is a piano driven song, with her vocals. This song kind of feels like most of the other songs on this album. That's exactly what a pop hit needs, consistentness. I haven't heard all of these songs in order, so that how I know the sound by the third track.
4. Don't You Remember: This has a southern arpeggio sounding vibe that I am picking up. I can't recall any other song that quite songs like this, so that excited me a little. By the end of the song this was not exciting to me.
5. Set Fire To The Rain: I really, like Rolling in the Deep, like the way she sings this song. The piano and vocals and instrumentation is exciting, the only other time on this album that excites me is Rolling in the Deep. This song doesn't sound like any other song on this album. So that's a good thing. The piano arpeggios make this song sound really cool. It also builds, which makes it good.
6. He Won't Go: This song has a feeling that I could picture in a part in a movie where they are walking in a fancy club. This song has strings added in the chorus and it actually kind of reminds me a little, just the strings in the chorus and how they sound, of Sucre in the was that the strings sound in the chorus. This also sounds like a song that would be a hit. I don't like it all that much, but I could see this being a hit song if it was in a soundtrack. There is a part where it sounds like its strings, her voice, and a harp and that sounds pretty. Nothing that moving, but it's not terrible.
7. Take It All: This is a piano songs that I thought of, first came to mind, the intro to Sir Elton John's 1972 hit Rocket Man off the album of the same year Honky Château. This song is basically just her singing along to a piano. The thing though, that keeps it from having more of an Elton feeling is, she doesn't play piano. This is another good song, just not a song that I'm crazy or impressed with.
8. I'll Be Waiting: This song didn't really impress me that much either. I think that it's beginning to become overkill.
9. One And Only: This song in'st terrible, but it's like doo wap vibe instrumentally. Now I think that this also has a Bob Dylan and The Band vibe, but I don't like her voice along with those insturmentation. This is a pretty cool sounding song, but I don't like it that much.
10. Lovesong: My Mom has this CD. And the songwriter credits for this song is a shit load longer than any other track. This has 6, and every other track has two. It's also the only track without Adele in the songwriting credit. This song has a jazz house feel. I don't really know if you'd describe it as jazz, but I feel like it's kind of jazzy. I think that this is a relaxing song to lead into the last song.
11. Someone Like You: This is probably the biggest song off this. This is a very pretty song. I don't think that Adele is amazing, but I do think that this song is a good song. The vocals on this song are beautiful. I don't LOVE this song, but it's one hell of one. I think that she did a good job on this on.

Overall I give this Grammy album a 8/10, but if it was how I enjoyed it, it would be a 6/10. I don't think that it's the greatest album of 2011, but I can tell when someone has a good album. I like it more than Foster the Fuckers. So yeah...

Teenage Dream - Katy Perry

This is the second studio album by pop singer Katy Perry under the name Katy Perry. Her first ever album was self titled under her birth name Katy Hudson released in 2001. And that it was christian/gospel music instead of pop music we know her for. I think that some of her music is actually pretty decent. Now the reason I picked Teenage Dream is because this has songs that I know off the top of my head. There are more songs on this one I know than on One of the Boys. My little sister actually has the clean version of this album. Another reason I have to review this is because I heard Part of Me, Firework, and The One That Got Away on the radio today. Also how could you not love the album cover. I would put the list of producers, but there is a shit load, 10.

1. Teenage Dream: This is the title track and it is a song I'm not huge on. I don't really like this song that much. I didn't like the video for the song, and I didn't really like the song. The song just kind of bugs me and kind of annoying to me.
2. Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.): This song is another single from the album, and another music video. The video for this was actually pretty neat. The reason was because it kind of reminded me of a mini movie. Like Thriller, this was an interesting longer video. Lady Gaga's music videos are in no way artsy and they don't make sense. There isn't any "You don't look deep enough" it's just for attention. People that think they are insightful aren't and they don't know anything about art. I'm no artistic mastermind or even understand some art, but I know that people try to be different. Don't try to be anything, just be the way you are. Back to this song, I think that this is actually a pretty good song. I think that this is also a fun song.
3. California Gurls (featuring Snoop Dogg): I remember when this song came out. I remember, like every healthy teenage boy, Loving the music video. Katy defiantly knows how to get attention. This video, beside her, is actually not terrible. It's kind of funny, in a way. Well any way, this song is pretty catchy. I like that 
4. Firework: This is another songs that I'm not huge on. I know that it's a single, and they are supposed to be the best songs on the album, but I don't think that it's that great.
5. Peacock: This song reminds me of Mickey by Toni Basil. I think that this song is very much so a song that I could see being a cheer. One that a friendly cheerleader would sing to you, right before she tries to get with you. This song doesn't really grab my attention, except lyrically. There is a beat in there that is the same beat that is in California Gurls. There is no way that she isn't singing about a penis.
6. Circle the Drain: This song is a song that reminds me of a 90's pop song. This song is also the one where she says the word fucking. I think it's actually kind of ''sexy'' that she says fuck. I don't know why but it's different. I don't think that she really swears in other songs, but in this one she makes it sound kind of like she wants to get it out. This song is actually really neat. It kind of makes me feel like I'm tripping and she is telling me to stop because she doesn't want to take care of me, while I'm tripping. There is like pitch shifting done to the vocals as the songs is going on. It's kind of like the song Initiation by The Weeknd, but not to that extreme of vocal pitch shift
7. The One That Got Away: This is one of the songs that I'm not big on. Actually I don't even like this one. It kind of bugs me, more than Teenage Dream. I don't know why, but there is something about that just irritates me about this song. It is like the others but this one just rubs me the wrong way. This is a good song though. I think it's good, but I don't like it.
8. E.T.: I can't tell you how many times I heard this song at summer school on the bus. It was ridiculous how much I did. The fucking radio couldn't go one day without playing that. Now that I can listen to it by choice, I like it more. I think that this song is more dark than the other songs on this album. The rest of the songs are pop songs, and this one is a little more "scary". The video is "scary" if you think about it. It's not a stretch for a little kid, who might love her, be scared of the video. Well beside the Kanye part.... Oh shit! I really like this song, actually it's my favorite on the album. I think that there is this almost hypnotic brainwashing feel to the song that makes it impossible not to like it. I love it, not the video, but the song. {9/10}
9. Who Am I Living For?: The way this song is, with the way its sung and the beat. It kind of reminds me of The Weeknd or Drake. This is more of a R&B sounding song verses the other pop songs. I actually think that this song is pretty cool. It is another song that is a little different from the others on the album. It's always good to have variation, but it also depends on the artist and genre. This is a good song and it has cool singing {7.8/10}
10. Pearl: This is another song that remind me of like a mash up of a pop country song. I could see Kelly Clarkson singing this song. I also like this one, for the fact that it's different form the rest. I don't love it or think that it's amazing, but it's good to have variation.
11. Hummingbird Heartbeat: This song title sounds like one that I would pull out of my ass. No offense to Katy, but the title doesn't really sound like a song, if that makes sense. Well anyway this song is ok. This is a return to something that reminds me of Teenage Dream. She says virginity in this song, and I think that it's all about being in love. This kind of sounds like a filler, but that doesn't make it a bad song. Some of my favorite Beatles songs where actually their fillers. Don't Bother Me, Little Child, I think that the cover versions were to. And the melody on the second side of Abbey Road was all filler, unfinished songs. That little 17 minute melody changed my perspective on music. Though I am not crazy about the song it's not terrible. It's actually just over 16 minutes.
12. Not Like The Movies: This is a song with piano. It is kind of a sweet way to end the album. I think that this sounds like a song that would be in a Disney soundtrack.

Overall I have to give this a 6.8/10. What can I say, Katy pulled off on damn good album. I might not be huge on it so much, but that doesn't make it a bad album. I think that there were to many parts on it that hurt it a little. I am still going to do all of her other stuff, and Gaga's 2009 Fame Monster Ep

Exquisite Corpse- EP - Warpaint

this is a band that formed in 2004 in Los Angeles. I remember listening to the first I heard Elephants. That song, along with the video, remind me of those late "Summer Nights". The ones where I listened to Faith No More and Mr. Bungle. It also gives me that good feeling that I got from, this will sound ironic, summer school. I felt like that was a new family for me. It was fun, but it stinks getting up. I do kind of miss it though. Enough info crap and back to the review. This is for realz holmes and now to the review. PS I'll fix the album cover later. 1. Stars: This song starts out with a feeling that reminds me of the Foo Fighters. With the exception that it's a girl singer. The song in particular that comes to mind is The Pretender off the 2007 album, whose name I can't think of but if you knew those Foos you know what I'm talking about. The drums and bass through the entire track remind me of that. The song then changes a little way into it and it turns into a Zeppelin sounding guitar with vocals from girls. The second half of this song remind me of that breakdown of the lie version of Since I've Been Loving You {7/10}.
2. Elephants: The video to this song is a welcoming one. I love it so much. This has like a magical feeling to it to where it's hard to explain. I don't really know how I can explain it. This is a very psychedelic song and has awesome guitar finger picks. The distortion to the guitar and vocals is awesome. The drums an the bass are so clear. The drums are sick and they just add to the song. This song is so clean and clear and easy to hear everything. There is a part where the girl's voice sound like its underwater. At that same part the guitar cuts out and it's just bass and drums going with her voice. The part where the song slows down and then just ha this feel of building up. Orgasm, because it goes back to the beginning. {10/10}
3. Billie Holiday: This song is ok. I don't think that it's the best song on this album, but I do think that it is neat. This song is an acoustic song, that with headphones, sounds better and more pretty. The drums in this song are a little quieter in this than the last track, but they still are sick sounding. This drummer on the Ep is really cool style of drumming, at least I think. This song is a love song and could be a love song that I could see someone having in a movie after the lead lost their love interest. There is this synth that sounds like strings. In the ending they have one of those two different people singing two different things. That is followed by two acoustic part that was in the whole song an is goes into like a distorted underwater sound kind of. Then is goes to the fade, and tw0 track fades in and his this cool feel that it comes back in. This is a really cool song {8/10}
4. Beetles: This song reminds me of Elephants, but it doesn't. This is a cool sounding song like Elephants but it has a more clear almost Undistorted feel to it. The bass and drums are more loud than the guitar. The song goes into a breakdown and during this breakdown the song has this type of pretty arpeggios that are accompanied by drums and bass. That ends and it's sole guitar playing what sounds like Greensleeves. After that a synth comes and gives it this more emotional feel to it. Then come the drums and after that the vocals. That part kind of reminds me of the breakdown in Since I've Been Loving You off the legendary live album The Song Remains The Same. After that it goes into this other kind of sounding Led Zeppelin feel. They pull it off like pros. I really enjoyed this song {9.7/10}
5. Burgundy: This song starts with sole bass and drums and then the vocals. There is the guitar that sounds like it is waiting in the background waiting to attack. This song seems like it is a tiger, so to say, and is waiting to attack. This song progressively gets louder and faster. It has this slow fade in feel to it. The most of the track sound like it is still fading in. This is really cool and I like that that the way it was produced. The instrumentation impresses me like a mofo. I can't believe I enjoyed this so much. This is a really sick song. The song then sounds like it begins to fade out to acoustic arpeggios. {9/10}

Over all I would have to give this album a 8.6/10. I enjoyed this more than I thought I would. I would suggest this album to anyone who in interested. This is a good Ep, and from what I understand the album is better. Can't wait to do that one. I think that this is neat, especially since I poked out the Led in there. Ha ha ha ha… I am hoping to get this, one day, on Vinyl and CD too, if that make that. That would be sick. Oh yeah one last thing I'm doing one tomorrow but after today the daily reviews is going to end and I will upload them as I feel. But the weekend ones will still be there. I'm hoping for, excluding the weekends, three a week. So yeah, that's it

Through The Rough - Merriment

This is the debut Ep by the band formed by Christie DuPree and her brother Colin. They are the siblings of the Elsley band members. The first releases was credited to Christie DuPree. I haven't really given her a chance. So why not do this now and review it today. I hope it's good because my favorite song off the Eisley Christmas Ep thing was her cover of Oh Come Emanuel. I recently saw these guys, along with Eisley on July 10th, 2012. They were way better live than on the Ep. So I'm re updating the albums review.

1. I Give Up: This is the first song that I heard of the Ep and I didin't like it. I gave it a couple tries and spread them apart, but I can't get into this song. And it only gets harder from here on out.
2. Blessed Soul: This song sounds like Stacey singing someone who can't really write music's song. There is also a country feel to it, and it isn't fun.
3. Through the Rough: This song kept up that overall boring vibe I get from this Ep. It isn't a fun listen.
4. Rewind: I am completely serious, I fell asleep to this song. That's how good I thought it was.
5. Sunday Morning: This song went over my head. I just didn't like it, I couldn't pay attention

Over all I unfortunately give this a 3.5/10. I wasn't interested in this and probably will be timid to check out anything Christie does like this again. After relistening to this, and having their live performance I hav to give this a 6/10. When you see them live you gain a new appreciation for them. Not a live video, a live performance.

Threads - Now, Now

This is the first full album I am going to listen to by a band called Now, Now. I know that they were originally Now, Now Every Children. I found out about these guys via Last.fm Eisley radio station. They are a indie band, and I kinda am excited to listen to this album. I found out about this album because of some link that led me to the Rolling Stone Magazine website where they had a stream of School Days. I thought that that was pretty cool so I wanted to check it out. I know it might not be amazing, but I don't know. I really do hope  it does good.

1. The Pull: This is more of an ambient beginning to the album. It is kind of like Prelude to Joanie on Aerosmith's 1982 album Rock In A Hard Place (that's the only album without Joe Perry performing on it) but instead of in the middle of the album, like the beginning. This song is not that crazy bizarre, I know, none of the top of my head, albums where they do that.
2. Prehistoric: This song did, in no way, grab my attention. It kind of sucked. I was hoping for a better "first song", because of the prelude.
3. Lucie, Too: This song didn't catch my attention either. It also kind of sucked. I don't like it and it isn't good. I still think that others might like this more than I, but I do not.
4. Dead Oaks: This is a cool sounding song. It is a little different in the fact that I wanted to listen to the rest of the album after this song. Before this song the album was bland. And this helped it get a little better.
5. Oh. Hi.: This song reminds me of one of Eisley's heavier songs. It sounds like it would be on the Deep Space Ep, that is in dire need of me re-reviewing it. This also kind of reminds me of Coldplay. Like the instrumentation of the song. I like this song. I don't love it, but so far that has been my favorite track on the album. No other ones has really grown on me, or caught my attention.Towards the end of the song there is a xylophone sounding solo in the song, kind of, but it reminds me super of Mylo Xyloto album by Coldplay. 
6. But I Do: This song reminds me of The Honey Trees. From the one Ep I've heard from those guys, The Honey Trees, I think that they are ok. I don't think that they are gods gift to indie pop, but what ever. This song sounds like it would most definitely be on Deep Space.
7. Separate Rooms: The beginning of this song reminds me of The Honey Trees/Coldplay/Eisley. The thing is that it isn't very good. Like it is more of a boring version of some Honey Tree song. I am not really enjoying this album so far. Not so much the fact that its a lot to take, just it's not good
8. Thread: This song sounds like it would be a college rock song. Like it is from New York. And I've come to learn that that it's very good for the most part. I don't really enjoy this type of music, the New York indie bands, with some very few occasions.
9. Wolf: This song doesn't pay homage to Tyler, The Creator in anyway... at all. See I made a funny. This is the first song were they used synthesizers. This song started out, not so bad. This song reminds me of a more indie version of Paramore. Their songs that are softer like When it Rains. But in the middle of the songs they begin like spelling out sounds and the word sleep. Those vocals sound like very tight. Down side to this is it reminds me of '80s music, but the music from the '80 I can't really stand.
10. School Friends: This was the first song off this album that I heard. I heard it back when it was first put up on Rolling Stone website. This song, I feel could be so much more emotional and meaningful to me, but it's not. There is so much that goes into a song that makes it mean something to someone. It could be related to emotions or memories you've had from the past. That doesn't hit me, the way I wanted it to. I actually remember liking it more when I first heard it on Rolling Stone.
11. Colony: This song has this country bluegrass feel to it. It is actually, not very good. I don't like this, it is bad country. This album has gotten so dry for me. I really don't want to revisit it. The drums are kind of cool thought, I'll give them that. This reminds me of a crappy attempt at trying to remake Eisley's album Combinations. 
12. Magnet: The song starts out dry. It kinda almost puts me to sleep. And the drums come in they are buried but they still kind of sound ok. In the middle there is a solo where the guitar playing arpeggios is buried in the background. This song then goes into a build up. This song isn't terrible, just could be so much more {5/10}

Overall I give this a 4/10. I think that this reminded me a little too much of Eisley's new Ep Deep Space. It is too familar to me to actually enjoy this. I think if you love indie pop music you might like this album. But I just don't. This did have ups though. It kind of reminded me of Eisley, The Honey Trees, and Coldplay. All good bands, just this isn't. I don't feel it lived up to that sound. Another thing about it is too much like '80 College Rock, or what ever you call it. 

Martina Matwiejczuk-Extended Play

OK heres the problem. My keypad on my computer stopped working. So I have to do this from my iTouch. So I apologies for that and hopefully ill do the The Beatles and Frank Zappa tomorrow. Now on to the reason I am reviewing this Ep. This is an artist that I found out about via FrostClick. I know someone who has the last name Matwiejczuk from school, so I decided to see if that was some type of relation to her. Well there is no relation and I decided to check into this Ep. And the girl looks attractive so I was pretty excited to listen to this. So I don't really know what to expect going into this.

1. Give Me A Reason: This gives me this '90s electronic feel to it. It kind of reminds me of the music I used to hear when I was like 5, in like 2000. I think that her voice is pretty cool. This then goes into an electronic beat that reminds me of '90s hip-hop. This would be a good song to have on a work out mixtape. I could see this being a song by No Way Josie

2. Kilimanjaro: This name makes me think of Africa. This has an African style beat to it. At least that is what it reminds me of. This song is actually pretty good once it sinks in. {7/10}
3. At Night: This song has a dub step beat in the beginning. This song reminds me of Lady Gaga. The way she sings is like her. This has autotune on it. It also reminds me of ET by Katy Scary. Her voice also kind of reminds me of The Weeknd. That is actually kind of funny, but not. This is a really cool song {8/10}
4. Searcher: I'm not as big on this song as I am on all the other songs. I don't really know for sure why I think that way. But it's probably because I think that it is... I don't exactly know? But I don't hate it {7/10}
5. Black is White: This song is probably my least favorite. I don't like this one much. I also don't really like how she sings this either.

Over all this Ep gets an 7.8/10. I didn't really have any certain expectation on this album. I wanted it to be good, but I didn't really think that it would be that amazing. This is like a not as good verison of No Way Josie! but without dub step. After listening to this and contemplating it, I think that this could grow on me. But for now I have to stay with the review I have given it.

The First - Dominique Grace

This is the first thing that I've ever heard by this girl. I found out about her from the daily FrostClick emails I get. I got this one a while back. I love that she instaspamed the album cover. And She is pretty cute so why not check this out. The cute thing hopefully won't at all affect the review

1. Struggle: This is one 2 and a bad, I actually think that it sounds pretty cool and has a good feel to the beginning of this Ep.
2. Can't You See: This is a piano driven song. Her vocals are pretty cool sounding. They kind of remind me of Adele. Not really, but kind of in a way.
3. Angel Grace: This song reminds me of a soft song. This song isn't that amazing. I actually am not that crazy about it. I don't really think that I can give it a good positive idea. It reminds me of a not so good Christie DuPree or now Merriment.
4. Lessons Of Life: I don't at all like this song. It has very crappy distorted vocal in the background. It is an Capella song and it isn't anything special.
5. Battle: This is basically like the first track. This isn't really that great. It doesn't keep my interest.

Over all I unfortunately give this a 3.5/10. I wasn't interested in this and probably won't check out any of her other stuff, if she released stuff in the future.

Speak Now - Taylor Swift

Now I've never really been a huge fan of this girl. Actually there were like 2 songs that I liked by her. Well my cousin Stevie showed me the videos of Better Than Revenge, Speak Now, and Haunted. I thought that those were really cool because I'm used to hearing Taylor sing about being sad, and something that is, for lack of better word, "cute". The first song I heard of this was Mean and I really liked that song. So I decided to someday listen to the whole album, but I never really got to it. Today that's changing. I heard 77% of this album before I started reviewing this and I have to say I was, well....

1. Mine: This song starts out the album. I think that this song doesn't nessicarly foreshadow how good the rest of the album is. It starts out cool and it isn't bad, but well it doesn't have that umph!. I think that the chorus is good but this song just doesn't leave that amazing of an imprint on me. This song reminds me too much of what I would of heard on Fearless.
2. Sparks Fly: This song isn't that amazing either. Trust me thought, try to forget about these songs if you don't like them. The album gets a ton better. It bugs me that these sound like Fearless leftovers. You know like outtakes or extra unused songs from Fearless. And it really doesn't, at least to me, like she tyred to change them up that much.
3. Back To December: There is this sound that sounds like it is tremolo. This song kind of reminds me of winter and December.This song also really reminds me of an orchestrated take, with different lyrics, of Mean. I'm not huge on it, but I still kind of like it. This song is cool, I'm just not digging it for some reason that I just am not. {4.6/10}
4. Speak Now: This song is a song that I could picture on Fearless but revamped for this new album. I'm not IN LOVE with this but I like it. I also like the idea of the song and the whole feel. I think that the instrumentation of the song is cool and think that the. I like this song I'm just not a psycho for this song as much as some of the songs after Mean. This song also has the overall old school country feel to it. For that reason it will get a {7/10}
5. Dear John: This is a long ass mother fucker. I was not looking forward to it. This song is neat in the fact that there is a big story behind it. Like a wedding and the man left her. I think that the music fits the song but for now I'm not crazy about this song. It does pick up pace but it has that country ideals feel to it. This is a pretty song thought and I think that a country music fan would very much so like this song.
6. Mean: I'm pretty sure I saw this the day the music video came out. I thought that this was a little different for T. Sweezy because I actually liked it. I wasn't a big fan of her. But this song was a little different. I really liked that the lyrics weren't so cute and they were more aggressive and it was more uplifting than some of her other love songs. Like your mean, but I can over come that and as long as I love myself I can accomplish anything.
7. The Story Of Us: This song picks up and goes. This song is also where the power of the album comes in. Mean was soft and not powerful, in the fact of the loudness. This song is the first fast paced song. This is a really good song. I like also how at the end of some of her chorus she says like "Next Chapter". I think that this is awesome. The way she sings it and the way the instruments are in this song are also really cool. This also has a really fun feel to it. Like though it is aggressively lyrically it seems like it would be fun to play live.
8. Never Grow Up: This song is complimented by the end of the last. This song is pretty. There is finger picking in this song and it still has that young feel to it. This song sounds like it is a person singing and saying to not leave their childhood. This song is very pretty and reminds me of being my age. It is nice to hear something that is so real to me. I think growing up is important, but you can't be an adult. You need to still have that kid in you and it means a lot to hear a song about wanting to stay young and a kid. There are so many people around me who are either immature or maturing. But on both sides they will grow up and lose their childhood and their inner kid. That's really no fun.
9. Enchanted: This song acoustic guitar part made me cry. The beginning made me tear up. It so strange to think that it is that way. It sounds so pretty and is just an emotional song. The part where the chorus comes in isn't as powerful to me. But the beginning and the verses is the part where it hits. It is just like "BOOM" on my heartstrings in the very beginning. I don't really know how to better explain it.
10. Better Than Revenge: This song is  bad ass. I mean seriously she fucking says "She's better known for her roles on the mattress" that's a pun. That is super sick, I didn't Taylor had that in her. Goes to show that people aren't always what you think. This is a fast song and catchy. It is also very powerful and has a hard chorus to get out of your head. This is more of a rock song than country, though there is still country sounds on it. The lyrics are just so, for me, mind blowing aggressive for what I thought she was capable of. I mean some of the lyrics are said pretty angrily. Just listen to this song, even if you don't like her music. You might be surprised, I was. {9.5/10}
11. Innocent: This song has a feel that reminds me of Paramore's 2009 song Misguided Ghosts. I really like that song. Part of the reason was because it was so different from the rest of that album. This also continues the themes of "revenge". I mean that in the way of angry and why did you do this. Your as Innocent as you claim to be. This song is still pretty and touching. There is like this buried guitar solo under everything else going on it the song, which fits perfect. I think that it's cool that they did that and how it sounds.
12. Haunted: This song is also way more mature than some of her other stuff. This song also has the huge orchestral sound to it. Some groups try to use strings to sound big and better, well Swizzle pulls that shit off in this song. This song's chorus is so fricken catchy and is hard to forget. I still remember when I first heard it. And that was at least 2/3 weeks ago. Seriously, I mean I don't constantly think about it, but when I do it hits. The guitar solo is short but it works. After the solo there is a breakdown that starts with her singing along with a piano and then come the strings and everything else. I seriously could see this being played at like the Super Bowl or something. Another thing too, there is like this electric guitar power chords and it is more supporting her voice along with the string and the drums and bass and everything fits. Prefect {10/10}
13. Last Kiss: This song is sweet and reminds me of Innocent. I like this song, because it is pretty. But I don't like this song because it is too similar to Innocent for me. As you see there are conflicting feeling to this song for me. This is also a nice love song, and is a pretty song. I like it, just not love it. Also this song is a little long for me to love.
14. Long Live: This song is better than Last Kiss. I like this song. I feels like it builds and it is a more upbeat than the last song. This song makes up for the last track It isn't huge, like I want it to be, but it is still pretty good. It also is meaningful and makes me think of running around with a life long friend that you love and it doesn't work out. And remembering the fun you had and trying to stay together. It is a good way to end an album.

Overall I have to give this album a 8.1/10. I was extremely surprised that I liked it so much. I very much dislike country, for the most part, and epically new country rock. It isn't that appealing to me. Well this album was very appealing to me, and I think part of it is because it is more mature than most country. By that it's not She Left Me, or Lets Get Drunk. It's more meaningful and aggressive. If those first 3 songs weren't on this album then that would of helped me out big time with the way that I rated this album. Possibly a 9/9.5 instead of an 8.1. I'm getting this on CD and if they make it, on Vinyl. I hope she keeps up this new sound/style, so to say.

The Valley - Eisley

Alright You guys I flippin' pushed The Dark Side Of The Moon's upload date in order to make space for this amazing super meaning full album to me up. This is Eisley's third studio album. This is also their first full lenght after leaving that, well I don't know how to put this any nicer, HELL of a record label Warner Bros. Those guys are crooks. Well anyway, I fell in love with Eisley after I saw them live at Lincoln Hall, Chicago on either 2/11/11 or 2/14/11. I don't remember the exact date. I do no that I was super excited to see these guys. My cousin Stevie and Mike told me they were going to see some band called Eisley in like October or November of 2010. Then Stevie kept talking about them, so I eventually started listening to them. The first songs I heard were I Wasn't Prepared and also Plenty of Paper off their full length album from 2005 Room Noises. I didn't really like it. It took me a couple listens to like it, this was in January of 2011. Then I heard Combinations which made me excited for seeing them live. I eventually became in love with Combinations and then I heard the song Ambulance. That quickly became my favorite song by them. For some reason it had some type of emotional effect on me. There is a certain thing about that song that just hit me. So that song made me even more pumped to see them. After the show we met them. It was really never racking, especially saying "hi" to the sisters. They are pretty and they are well.... Eisley. After that concert ask anyone at school who remembers when I saw them. I was a die hard fan and couldn't wait for this album to come. Well the day of I asked my mom to pick up the album before I get home and asap. Well I went to school, and I had one of those craps where it hurts you scrotum. Well I lasted until 4th hour, where I went home. My uncle picked me up and I asked him if he heard it. He said it was really good and told me all about it. When I got home my mom didn't have bought the Cd so I sat on the shittier with nothing alone and in pain. I called her and she told me she didn't get it yet. So when I was done I waited another 3 hours watching Conan reruns and when she got home she gave me the CD. I ran in the basement and listened to it. There was a girl I had a crush on when I got this, and It reminds me of here, in a way. There were certain songs that remind me of her still. And I see her around school, but what ever. This album also still has an emotional feel to it through all the songs on it and the feeling is just. It is very important to me. Oh one last note, these guys did production for the album Gary Leach, Austin Deptula.

1. The Valley: This was a song that wasn't my favorite at first. Then this eventually became an important song to me. I picked this song as a song for the main track to the Othello soundtrack that we had to make for sophomore year English. This has an awesome beginning string section with her vocals sound like the best way to start an album. This song is just so pretty and upbeat. This song has such strange lyrics and metaphors in it. It is very figurative in what it is supposed to be meaning and showing. The verses and pretty but then the kick comes in, after a slight instrumental break (just enough to say three words), with the guitar riff with the chorus. The harmony vocals throughout is pretty and there isn't really anything that I can say is wrong with this song.
2. Smarter: This is one of the angry songs by Eisley. I remeber seeing them play this song live. I didn't think much of it until I heard the actual album. The guitar has a riff and this music video is pretty cool. Now this isn't my favorite song but I do like it and will listen to it on the album. I don't really listen to this outside or alone but I do listen to this with the album and it adds to the mix of angry and sad. Which is a certain feel I have gotten from this.
3. Watch It Die: The first time I heard this song it sounded like they were saying "Fucking In the morning". I found that very odd. I kept hearing that until I actually read the lyrics in the booklet that came with the CD. And the song seems to start suddenly. I don't really think that it is timed right. It is all correct but i feel like it is off beat? Even though it all works and is on the same beat of the song. Whatever that's just one of my weird ideas. But the verses in this song are cool. During the chorus there is song type of banjo sounding thing in the background. I think that that's the electric guitar because after all there are two guitar players. And also it's always nice to hear Chauntelle sing.
4. Sad: Stacy plays like a G. Sherri is singing this one and it feels aggressive. For some reason or other I think this fits perfect on track 4. There is a cool riff to get people who like heavier music a glimpse of a heavier Eisley. The whole overall album is somewhat angry and you can tell. And this is a perfect example. Now the pre-solo is a perfect example of one of my favorite parts of Eisley songs. And the solo none the less is just right on. I feel what they do. This also has some figurative language in it's lyrics.
5. Oxygen Mask: This is another favorite by Eisley of mine. I just love this song. The piano is awesome and Stacy is nailing it with her vocals. The strings make me want to cry along with them. Sherri and Stacy's double harmony at the second verse remind me of something MGMT would do vocally and that is aided with the bass in the back. I love the strings and the other instrumentation over this whole thing. The ''pre-solo'' to this song is an sick sounding piano fill. And the solo is right on to. There is something about this song to where when I think about it and listen to it at the same time it makes me cry. It is an emotional song for me. I'm not quite sure of how this is remains relevant to me but this feelings still are. This song is just one big way to lighten up the tension, so to say
6. Better Love: Better Love is where the tension starts up again. With its aggressive drums, bass and guitar riffs. There is something about the guitar distortion and the bass that just work with me. The piano also in the chorus is pretty cool and works even better and isn't just there to be there.This is defiantly of of Eisley's more BA songs. This shows you that well... ''DuPree Family Ain't Nuthin' Ta Fuck Wit''. I love this solo and how the drums end the track and that same beat goes into the next refrain. That's part is my favorite part of the song and I love it just so much.
7. I Wish: This is probably my least favorite song on the album. I still like it but it is my least favorite. Well The song has progressively grown on me in a very good way. The live versions of this song, the ones they do live, is much better. I don't like the way it's just set up. The chorus isn't that mind blowing, for me. The best part of Eisley songs, for me, is like the bridge or refrain of whatever you way to call it. Well that refrain in this song isn't even that mind blowing for me.
8. Kind: This song can make me cry. There is some type of feel that I get from this song that makes me sad, in a good way. This song is one that reminds me of emotions and love and that whole entire thing that I love this reason because it reminds me so much of. The fact of the matter is that the most emotional tracks for me are Mr. Moon, Ambulance, Kind, and Oxygen Mask. There is something about the DuPree family that makes songs that can make me cry. I know that the emotions that I feel through the songs are there. The piano in the beginning and the chorus adds guitar in the mix along with the post chorus strings. And all this stays together and gets more grand as the song progresses. Then comes the refrain... #the tear jerker. And then the part with the two singing harmony and sole acoustic guitar. This is my friend what you call perfect
9. Mr. Moon: No tears are saved for this track either. This is one of the biggest most important songs I've ever heard by any band. I still remember when we saw Eisley live, Stevie told me that this next song sick. And Mike told me to listen to the drums. So when it started it was ok. Then the drums kicked in. I was obsessed with how Weston pulled that off for a good 2 months and used guitar hero drums to try to play along. The intro keys are just like a build up and the more and more you get into it you can see and feel the rush. The vocals on this track are beautiful and the instrumentation on this track is beautiful. I think the part where the harmony vocals kinda sound like they are being talked over the phone is funny and, for lack of better word, cute. This song's chorus just hits.... Like a rock. Then with the piano solo and the "uhhhh, uhhhh" harmony part,  just goes into the part where it is the 1st verse again into the best part of the song. The like extended version of the chorus during the "Bridge" I guess. This song is just so amazing I really don't have much I can't say about it but I need to move on to other tracks
10. Please: This is an mixed. I wouldn't probably listen to this on its own. But with the whole album it's perfect. This song also can make me cry. Though I don't think it is a Mr. Moon I don't think it's not a Kind. This song is very good, no exaggeration, but it is no amazing ground breaker/emotional breaker for me. That me personally. But when ever I hear this this gives me the feeling of a final word before the ending Ambulance which is the eplouge.
11. Ambulance: This song is super meaningful to me. This reminded me of someone that I held dear to myself. There is very much emotion that I've had over this and yeah. I am over her now and glad. When I listen to this it brings me back to winter going into spring and all the best feelings of the spring of Sophmore year of High School. You know the feeling of being in love, it being spring. I was just talking to my mom and I realized that this album is like an over all story about low points in their love lives, which I've known, but also that this is where it ends up. They need someone to take and care for them. This song starts out sad. Then it comes in with so much momentum and ends with the same power it started with. This song is prof that you can keep the same power through an entire song. There aren't very many songs that I know that do that for me. This song just has so much power and feeling to it. The strings come in in the beginning and keep adding up to the top and it with 3 high hat taps and the song comes in. The acoustic guitar adds as much power to the song as the electric and all the other instruments in this song. I cry at this song because of the emotional to it takes on me. But at the end it makes me stronger and better and more confident and 

Overall I give this album a 100/10. This album is so important to me. It has held an important part of my life and soul. I don't exactly know how to explain it. This album I know is heavier and darker for Eisley. Now they are no Burzum or Eminem but this lyrically and melodically is more mature than their other stuff up to this point. I like it and respect that they have grown over the past 12 years as a band, now 13 years. I just hope that they make another album that will mean this much to me x amount of years later. And I hope this one does to.
