Cherry Bomb - Tyler, The Creator

As I promised, here is Cherry Bomb. This is 4th studio album by California rapper and producer Tyler, The Creator. He is probably my favorite OF member for the fact that all three albums, prior to this albums, I've either loved or liked a lot. I reviewed all but Bastard so far for him. No other artist have I almost reviewed their stuff, the closest is probably The Weeknd, but I still need two more albums excluding Trilogy. I digress, this is something I'm curious about so why not review it. And well after one listen I know how I feel sadly. PS I'd do I Don't Go Outside, but its boring and I like it quite a bit less than this album. Straight up, I'm not gonna take much time to note samples or ever features beyond main or one that I care about. Tomorrow will see the release of my review for someone who should have had it a long time ago.

1. Death Camp: I don't really... well I think I have to listen to this in order to say how I feel. I remember hearing this at the end of the Fucking Young music video and kind of being interested in what what to come. The guitar is very fuzzy and I like the sample that he used, but I prefer the original over this album. This is a very repetitive song, and if I'm being completely honest, I rearranged this in my head. There is so much more he could have done to make this song amazing. I mean the best part is definitely the "I don't like to follow the rules" clap, and percussion solo. Like the bass, such a missed opportunity. And while I think the fuzz works here, I think the over use gets old. I also like that old synth sound that reminds me of Miami Vice.
2. Buffalo: There a few different jokes I could make, "Shiny Shiny" or Buffalo Voice but no one would get those. This song opens up with a cheer of sorts, which is a sample from Shake Your Booty by Bunny Steiger. But the guitar on this isn't as fuzzy, but this seems a little cluttered. I mean only like at the first few seconds in the verses (?). Just listen to it, it's the part before the Goblin call back, you know the very "Kill People, Burn Shit, Fuck School" sounding synths. I mean I like it more then the last track, but it's a little cluttered. The ending is good though, like the every ending with it's just vox, piano, synth.
3. Pilot: Episode of what?  Damn it! This is a return to the not very good compression. I do like interlude thought, inbetween the vocals. This really honestly reminds me of Sara. It's not as good as Sara, but it's okay.
4. Run: "Run Run Run Gypsy Death" (?). But seriously this reminds me a little of Outta My Mind by B.O.B. and that's really all I have to say. Well other than may it modulates and that the vocals sounds pitched up. But picture Outta My Mind.
5. Find Your Wings: This title reminds me a lot of Spread Your Wings by Queen. Also I think it's kinda sick he got Roy Ayers to play on this song. My favorite thing he did was the soundtrack to Coffy with Pam Grier. My problem with Roy is that most of his albums are just covers. Now Coffy is original material and its music to a Pam Grier movie so it scores points regardless. Now I should talk about the track but honestly I'm more interested and invested in talking about the pointless filler I did earlier for this track vs the actual song. Because honestly I have nothing to say that isn't said anywhere else in the review, it's just not that great and interesting outside of the choices of instruments. 
6. Cherry Bomb: "Che Che Che Che Che Cherry Bomb". Actually, honestly I sing the little "cha cha cha" part before the song starts. I did it to the drum rhythm in the beginning. This title actually irritates me quite a bit. I mean Bastard, Goblin and Wolf aren't anything at all unique and original or different in terms of titles, but this is just so stupid. It takes the cake kinda. This is very distorted song that isn't done very well. I mean Death Grips distorted song stuff off Jenny Death but they, you could understand what Ride was saying. This just, it sounds like it was recorded on a cassette and instead of the hiss being too loud the hiss was traded in for digital distortion. And the part you can make out isn't good enough to make out the track. I wonder if he did this to cover up something that wasn't as interesting. Although I do dig the soul vocals and the very New Slaves vibe beat that you can make out when the female vocals come in. Also not huge on the ending, and the very very ending like that car radio thing, reminds me so much of nostalgia, ULTRA. and channel ORANGE.
7. Blow My Load: Classy title, well but then again it is Tyler. But you know, this title is just so dumb. But that ultimately won't effect my out look on the song. Another track that reminds me of Analog. I wouldn't be surprised if the synths are the same synth or this is based on that track. I kept singing "meet me by the lake" while I was listening to it. And the fact that there is a "hidden" song. Damn it it reminds me so much of Analog.
8. 2Seater: This title reminds me of Analog and Slater. This title almost sounds like it'd fit on Wolf without issue. I also play Bimer in my head when I see this title on its own and without music yo back it up. But anyway I feel like maybe if the synth wasn't so farty and "sawed" then it'd work better. I do like that saxophone in the track, but still.... I mean this doesn't really stick out as mind blowing. I do enjoy how it goes into that whole short string section thingy. It's arranged very well, but it still feels a little off. The whole idea of this jazz thing on the track has everything to sound good, it just doesn't really click for me.
9. The Brown Stains of Darkeese Latifah Part 6-12 (Remix): This track features Black Hippy member Schoolboy Q. I think the title is bizarre and like it for that reason, though I'm not digging the "remix" in the title. The hand claps in the beginning remind me of the hand clap section in Cherry Bomb. I like the Jared Leto reference, but not up to snuff.
10. Fucking Young / Perfect: This features Charlie Wilson (of the singing parts in Bound 2) and Kali Uchis. This is the only song that doesn't piss me off or leave me completely unsatisfied. Okay there aren't any tracks that piss me off, but just about every track leaves me unsatisfied. Just about, and honestly this track looses a little of it's appeal after multiple listens. Also I wish he would have done this topic a little more tastefully. I'ver tried to write a song in this vein, not because if it but love before it (like it dates back to last Fall). The thing is I have to wait to write the words more tasteful, but they are still more tasteful then Tyler's take. Thought I love the transitions between the songs and reminds me of a part in Siberian Breaks. This tracks ending also reminds me of Treehome, and honestly this is much more tasteful then the first half. I imagine a younger girl wouldn't realize the consequences of dating or fooling around with an older guy. She like the adventure and the thrill and to experience it, he just wants to not deal with the problems that come with it.  
11. Smuckers: This features Kanye and also Lil Wayne. The horns in the beginning of this track totally remind me of Goblin or Bastard, fuck what song is it. It's just better quality sounding and more clear. I think it's funny that that's what it reminds me of because there is a guy who said this album, in a review, sounds like he never made those two albums. This is such a great song Damn! This could be one of my favorite songs by TC. This is really great track, but then again, who knows. This is the only track that I'm probably a big enough fan of, maybe it's because it's slightly better than the others.
12. Keep Da O's: Shocker guess who comes to visit for round two Pharell, and also Coco O who was on Treehome 95. It also sampled I Only Have Eyes For You by the Flamingos. There are trap sounding drum sounds. But really it isn't anything I like. When I hear this I think of drill, which is a genre, but I am not sure if this is that. So I'm just gonna say it's sounds like an alien invasion drill. There is sawed or boxed. I don't' remember the second name because it's 7 in the morning and I've been up, minus an hour of sleep, since 2 yesterday.
13. Okaga, CA: And this ends with an underwhelming closer. This reminds me of the soul part in Fucking Young. Why it's because it's a reprise. You know I love the idea of playing with the idea of sex with a minor. You can make a compelling song about that taboo or a raw song. Examples of raw are Jailbait by Ted Nugent, Christine Sixteen by Kiss. Then the compelling thoughtful, for me at least, is I'm On Fire by Bruce Springsteen, and though Anyone's Daughter by Deep Purple is more tongue in cheek the music is very touching for me. Hell I think that Cradle of Love did it better and was more enjoyable. I think when you make a soul song you should make it either very creepy, when covering this topic, or make it very soulful. Like you love her. Whatever.

Overall I have to give this a 5/10. I'm very disappointed, though I quickly got over it, by TCs new album. To be honest there isn't much difference between this and Wolf, not conceptually but like setup wise. Instead of Jazzier stuff on Wolf he tackles more hard rockin shit, for lack of better word. This track also features more soul and r&b which are probably the better tracks, and moments,  here. But I can easily say this is my least favorite album by him. Well there are still other albums to look forward to, regardless of how well the previous 2015 anticipated albums have went down with me. At.Long.Last.A$AP (which wasn't what I hoped for, it didn't live up for me), Buckethead (he's probably gonna put out about 100 this year one is bound to be good), while I'm not looking forward to it I'll probably review SWISH. Oh, also i almost forgot, look forward to my upcoming Unconquered Sun review, which should be the next review of 2015 (release year not overall). 

MellowHigh

This is the debut release by MellowHigh. All but the 12th track were produced by Left Brain, the other was be Hodgy. I've already heard the album, and I didn't care much for it, but I figured I needed a review and this is a qucik one to do you know.

1. Goon'n: The beginning of this song vaguely reminded me of Echoes by Pink Floyd. Then when the song actually starts it sounds more like kind of cheesy electronic music from the late 90's or early 2000's. I mean it's ok, it doesn't sound like anything I couldn't find in other places.
2. Air: This sounds, instrumentally, an interlude from the Kardashians. Actually if this was less agressive, or less on this could be a Lil B instrumental. I've heard this album twice and I have to say this might be my favorite song
3. YU: This is anothe just Ok song, I mean there isn't really much to say in my opinion about his.
4. Extinguisher: I do enjoy the Arnold references, and think they have a solid flow through the song. Also this song is kind of long, I wish it was a minute or so shorter.
5. Nobody: ......... Well this is the first time that I can say I don't like, at all, the chorus of the song.
6. Self Titled: ......
7. Troublesome: uh
8. Get'n Drunk: I hope this track gets pretty deep for me.
9. Roofless:The opening line is how I'm feeling about this album at this point.
10. HighLife: This track features two rappers, Curren$y and Smoke DZA. This sounds like they sampled
11. Cold World: This track features Remy Banks and Earl. I've never heard of the former.
12. Cigarillo: Cigaro cigaro cigarooooooo
13. Remix: This track features Tyler. Maybe Tyler can help me like this song, you know just to get through that album.

Overall I have to give this album a 4/10. It starts out pretty good, but as it goes it starts to drag and I loose intrest. I'm not saying they are bad, but the best released by miles I've heard so far are Wolf, Bastard and Earl. Maybe there should have been more features to keep my mind off these repetitiveness of the flows and what not.

Wolf - Tyler, The Creator

This is the third album by Tyler, The Creator. It is the last in the trilogy, starting with 2009's Bastard (my favorite), then 2011's Goblin (Good), and now 2013's Wolf (TBA). This album was produced sole by T.C. and I've kind of been curious to see this album. I still plan on buying the CD, but I had to check out the leak. The first song that I heard was Domo23. I'm not huge on the name, but I was surprised that I like this song as much as I do. When I first heard it and saw the video I kind of rolled my eyes. I'll explain more about that later, but this was supposed to come out May, 2012. Well that didn't happen, and a month short of a year it came out. I am also interested in hearing the "Less Violent" lyrics on this. I like those, but I am curious to hear the more "mature" Tyler. Also I am interested in hearing these beats. (FYI, Next Day will be up this week)

1. Wolf: This is the first track, I'm hoping that it's sick. The reason is because Bastard's best song, maybe, was the first one. This actually kind of made me want to download the leak. I didn't know, or really care enough to download the leak until I heard this song. And you meet Sam.
2. Jamba: This song has Hodgy on it. This song actually kind of reminds me of French!. You know, that track of Bastard. I don't like this song as much as I like French! but I still kind of like it. I think mayve it will grow on me, but yeah. The beat on this song isn't that pretty, but in a good way. I think it's kind of cool that it doesn't really sound pretty. Like IFHY, you don't need to sound pretty to be good. I love John Zorn and some other ugly sounding things. I don't really care for the inbetween dialouge, "You don't even smoke". I don't know, what ever, he wants to do that. It doesn't ruin anything
3. Cowboy: This song has an interesting beat to it. It kind of reminds me of the first Wu-Tang album. I can't quite put my finger on what song exactly, but maybe like a mix of Da Mystery of Chessboxin' and Bring The Ruckus, Can It Be So Simple, or maybe even C.R.E.A.M.. I can't pick which one exactly, but at least that gives you an idea. He mentions "That closet that Frankie was in". This song isn't that great. I like the "prelude" into the next song.
4. Awkward: This song kind of continues the story about Her. I think that that's Sara or Rochelle that's mentioned on the track Bastard. On Bastard there were parts where Tyler seemed like he was venting, and Goblin had it's parts like that, Her, but this song seems kind of honest. The thing about this song is I could feel him, for the fact of being "in love". You know, and I'm still young too. So I kind of think it's kind of a neat angle to look at. I hope that makes sense. It isn't as good as Her though.
5. Domo23: I like this song. I didn't really at first, but it grew on me. I like that it reminds me of Rella. My one problem with this song, for the most part, is that it's kind of like a sole Rella. It's only Tyler. I liked how there was more than just one rapper on Rella but this only has Tyler. I do like this song a lot though. This defiantly picks up and gives you energy between probably two of the the most meaningful songs. And the horns at the end, UGH! Its beautiful.
6. Answer: This song is about if he calls his Dad, he hopes that his Dad would answer the phone. It's kind of a sad beat and backing to it. This is kind of a depressing song. This is him "venting" to his Dad over the "phone". This song is a good song. I didn't really think that I'd like it at first, but it grew on me after I actually heard the entire thing. I think it's cool that he handles this song. He seems mad, but he also kind of goes, I just want to hear you so I can say this to you. This is another honest song, and I think it's kind of cool for Tyler to be "straight". With each listen it means a little more to me.
7. Slater: This song features Frank Ocean on it. I guess "Slater" is what he named his bike, at least for this track. I don't know if that's really the name of it, but who knows with Tyler. I think this song kind of goes back to that "young Tyler". You know, the one that's growing up. Like I mentioned earlier. He talks about a girl on this track. I think it's kind of cool when he doesn't just say "I fucked a couple of models in Europe, and a couple of them swallowed". I think that the beat on this is pretty cool on this song. "My Cruel Summer never ends". I think it's funny that Frank calls him a loser for talking to a bike at the end.
8. 48: You know, I really don't know what to say about this song. I don't really care much for it. I don't know why, but I kind of just blank whenever I listen to this.
9. Colossus: You could argue all you want, there is nothing in my mind that will change it. This song is his try at a Stan. Now I never said if it was good or bad or what not, I just said it was his "version". Like Buried Alive is to Avenged as Stairway to Heaven is to Led Zeppelin, and so on. This song is a pretty good song to, but I think that Tyler gets a little carried away. He is getting irritated by taking pictures with fans at six flags who "Haven't even heard Bastard". And he's "Tired of hearing Yonkers". I can understand that, Yonkers was a different part of his career and he is past that, but then he has this obsessive fan who is like Stan. But "More Gay". I mean that you know, whatever. The whole "Cut on my balls". I don't think that anyone really said that.  I think it's cool when he says something about the "First chords of Bastard" and it "Dragged me in". It's funny because thats kind of what got me wanting to check him out more. Maybe Rochelle is the person he talks about one Awkward. That probably doesn't really matter, but just thought I'd bring it up.
10. PartyIsntOver/Campfire/Bimmer: This song features Lætitia Sadier & Frankie Ocean on it. I've never heard of the first person, and I don't think I know who Frank Ocean is either. No but seriously. I didn't know the first person. This song is pretty much on the same wagon as 48. I think it's kind of boring, and it's by far the longest track at 7:19, the second longest is like 5:20. Part of the PartyIsntOver beat reminds me of I Love You by Lil B off his God's Father mixtape. There is this crunch sound on Campfire, I don't know, but it's kind of bugging me. Bimmer is probably my favorite part of this melody. I wish that the songs didn't just stop. Like each track flows into each other, except the melody. WHY!
11. IFHY: The rapper Pharrell is on this track. I can honestly say that I like this song. I think it like that it's kind of "Ugly". This isn't the beat that's on Her or She. It's kind of a love song, but more of like an obsessive lover. "I Fucking Hate You, But I Love." The intro, keys, remind me of Bad Religion. This song is creepy, it really is, but it's also beautiful. Through the Ugliness is Beauty. {8.7/10}
12. Pigs: I like the Police Car siren in the background. Since the song is called Pigs. This song reminds me of Bastard, especially Seven. I like how he mentions 99 Problems on this song. This is an Ok song, but I fear it's becoming Goblin. It actually kind of reminds me a little of Pigs Fly. Which I don't know why, but it kind of does.
13. Parking Lot: This song has Casey Veggies & Mike G. on it. Casey was also on Odd Toddlers off 2009's Bastard. (That's my favorite of the OF releases). During the review of this album, I took a break and started listening to something else to not be "bored". I was glad I did that. This song has this wah sound that reminds me of Rugrats. This beat is sick as fuck. There are piano keys in here. Ugh! It's pretty sick sounding, it actually reminds me of the electronic "flares?" on MGMT's 2010 title track Congratulations. I think Mike does a good job on this, and so does Casey. I also wonder if BBNG helped with this track.
14. Rusty: I'm glad that I'm finally seeing Domo & Earl. This is a pretty solid track. Domo reminds me of him of, like me being this intrested, Double Cheeseburgers of Radical. The beat reminds me of Da Mystery of Chessboxin'. This song is hard. I can't believe that they are so like on this thing. I think it's awesome. Tyler is angry on this song, and Damn! Earl, you never let me down. At least on your features.
15. Trashwang: I think that this was supposed to be like Bitch Suck Dick and Window. This song has a bunch of guests, which include Na'kel, Jasper, Lucas, L-Boy, Taco, Left Brain & Lee Spielman. You can also kind of hear L-Boy and Left Brain. I'm not huge on posy tracks. This tracks background reminds me of the first track on The Re-Up from Shady Records.
16. Treehome95: This song has Coco O. & Erykah Badu. I don't know Coco, but I know of Erykah. I like the beat to this. But I don't think that Erykah really does anything for me on this track. I kind of would rather it be an instrumental than have her sing. Though I do really like the refrain in the song with the duet. But after thinking about it a little more I have learned that this has grown on me, and probably still will.
17. Tamale: featuring Tallulah. This song is song is sick as FUCK! I can't believe that I love this song so much. I don't understand why this song is so sick, but it kind of just is. I like the Instagram reference. His voice actually kind of reminds me, at the chorus, of Pitbull. I love the Latin beat though. {8.6/10}
18. Lone: This song is, after hearing it about 10 times, I have to say that this album is an awesome ending to this album. I love how he mentions his Grandma, and talks about him wanting to stop. The strings on this are like elevator music strings. But it's so epic. I don't know why, but I love it so much. I was surprised that I liked this album so much. One thing that bugs me is "Too Soon". How many times does he say that on this album? This song's story is actually pretty sad. Its kind of deep. This is another song that touches me. You know? {8.5/10}

Overall I  have to give this a 9/10. The track listing on this is interesting. When I listened to Goblin I kind of started to get bored at parts, kind of like at Sandwiches it starts to kind of get boring. I do honestly have to say that I did take my time on this, listened to the leak, and wanted to do a good job at it. I think I did a decent job, for my knowledge at the time, on Goblin, so I needed to live up to that, but do better. You know. There are some songs on here though that are awesome. I wish it was a little shorter though. I respect that he did this how he wanted to though. Maybe it'll grow on me with time. This is much better than the last. When you hear the whole album the whole summer camp theme is actually pretty cool. I think Salem is kind of cool to put in the story. And I guess IFHY is about Sam & Salem

119 - Trash Talk

This is 4th album by Californian Punk Band Trash Talk. I found out about these guys over the summer when they signed to Odd Future Records. They are releasing this on that label, along with their own Trash Talk Collective. Now I don't know much about these guys, mainly because I just want to give this a listen. I did a review yesterday of Numbers by MellowHype, which was released the same day as this one.

1. Eat the Cycle: This song kind of reminds me of some type of song by Retox. The thing though is, it's not as interesting.
2. Exile on Broadway: I feel like this is a Stones reference. But whatever, This song kind of sounds like Slayer's song 2001 songs Exile but with more of a punk vibe to it.
3. My Rules: I didn't even realize this song started. It's sound like the others.
4. F.E.B.N.: This song is Ok.
5. Uncivil Disobedience: This song has the punk energy, it's just, I don't really find this interesting.
6. Blossom & Burn featuring Hodgy Beats & Tyler, The Creator: This song kind of starts out a little different, by that I mean it kind of sounds like "Doom Metal/Sludge Metal"ish. If that makes any sense. I think that Hodgy does an interesting job on the verse on the album. And also Tyler's verse is pretty cool too.
7. Reasons: Pretty much the same thing, I don't find these songs interesting.
8. Fuck Nostalgia: This kind of reminds me of a less interesting Motörhead. The title is kind of ironic. So wait, Fuck the Album?
9. Apathy: ....
10. Thanks, But No Thanks: At least this is more drum driven.
11. Bad Habits: .......
12. Swinging to Pieces: 3 more tracks to go.

Overall this album shall get a 5/10. This is my introduction to this band and I have to say that I will probably let it be background music. By that I mean I won't put to much thought into listening to any albums by these guys. I think that it sounds like a less interesting Retox album. Also this is way too long. It could have gotten away with 8 songs and been like an EP or something.

Numbers - MellowHype

This is the third release by Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All's group MellowHype. It is made up of Left Brain and Hodgy Beats. It's kind of like, I guess, EarlWolf. Actually it's kind of funny I mention that, because Tyler did some production on this album. The first release , YelloWhite, came out in 2010. The follow up, BlackenedWhite, was released in 2010. In 2011 that same album was reissued, officially not as a mixtape, with a different track listing. I assume its because of some stupid thing called copyright, but whatever. Do I've been, somewhat, anticipating this release. I'm probably gonna review Trash Talk's new album, 119, for tomorrow. So this one is for today One last thing, this is the first time I've heard a MellowHype release front to back.

1. Grill: The beat is Ok, but It isn't that crazy. The first time hearing this, it isn't anything special to me. I don't know why, but I feel like this song would be a song that might be on Eminem's compilation album thing he did The Re-Ups. I don't like that they keep spelling words out for me.
2. 65 / Breakfast: I kind of like the keyboard sounding chords in the beginning. I like this beat much more than the last song. I am not crazy on Hodgy, but I still kind of like the song. I kind of like the change where the voices go "uh uh uh uh". I think that that's kind of cool, it kind of reminds me of Christmas. Like this might be a Christmas themed song, I guess? Does that make any sense to anyone but me. This entire song kind of gives me a Christmas music vibe. But not the words. Breakfast kind of reminds me of the ending of Pyraminds on Frankie's new album channel ORANGE. He actually kind of reminds me a little, especially when he says "I'ma touch the sky" of Kanye's song Touch the Sky off his 2005 Late Registration album. You know, the song that featured Lupe.
3. Astro featuring Frank Ocean: I'm kind of curious about what Frank is going to do on this song. I am not huge on Frank's line "Wear the yellow turn at the Grammy, rock out with my cock out". Beside that, I think that this song is kind of cool. So far this album is kind of getting better. It's not as bad as the first song. I don't hate that song, but I don't care for that song. I really like how Frank sounds. I also like how he mentions Prince. And the part at the end where Frank is singing with the piano, that's awesome. I think the song will only get better. And I also kind of like the original beat plays after Frank's part and to the fade. {7/10}
4. NFWGJDSH: This drumbeat reminds me of a mix of The Re-Ups intro track Shady Narcotics and the MellowHype song on the last OF Tape Vol. 2 the track 50. I don't care for the ending.
5. La Bonita: This song kind of starts out interesting. I hope it's nothing like Tenacious D's new song, off Rize of the Fenix, track 4 Senorita. Sorry I don't have that symbol on top of it, but I don't know how to get it. Yeah, I probably won't listen to this song again.
6. Beat: This song doesn't really keep my intrest that much. I still have 10 tracks. :(
7. Snare: The thing about this song is, I'm a teenager with a C average, and I can't really relate to this song. Like there is no lever that I connect to the whole feeling of it. The beat is ok.
8. Untitled L: Ok there's still a good 30 minutes left to this album. This song is not very intresting to me. I like the 007 mention.
9. Leflair: What?
10. Monster: The beat on this kind of reminds me a little of Bastard. But the song isn't as good as that album.
11. 666 featuring Mike G.: I thought that there was a song called 666 on either the original version of BlackenedWhite or YelloWhite. This song is probably easier to listen to than the last few songs.
12. P2 featuring Earl Sweatshirt: Hopefully Earl can help to save the rest of the album. I think the first P on OF Tape Vol. 2 is better than this song. I still think this is better than most of the album. The beat reminds me of Pyramids.
13. GNC: I kind of like the sitar sounding think in the song. This song reminds me of  a more intresting version of Lean. I also think Domo is on this track.
14. Brain: I feel like Hodgy was trying to be Tyler on this track. I kind of like the horn sounds in the song.
15. Under 2: The beat on this song reminds me of Analog 2. Hodgy kind of sound to me, a little like Em on his first album Infinite. I like this song.
16. Break: This was a decent song, and I think it was a good way to end the album

Overall I have to give this a 4.5/10. I didn't really care for this thing that much. Track 1 wasn't that good, then track 2 & 3 were pretty good, then it kind of when down hill. Maybe over time I'll be able to enjoy this more, but the few MellowHype songs I've heard before this I didn't care for.

The OF Tape Vol. 2 - Odd Future

This is, I guess, The second official album by the hip-hop group Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All. For this release I noticed that they shortened their name down. I like it more as Odd Future than the full name. It's much too long. I have been waiting for this album to come out for over a month. I was a little late into the whole Odd Future world. I saw the music video for Rella either the day it came out, or the day after. I was pumped for this since I am SUPER in LOVE with that song. By no means is this my last review for these guys. On the contrary, I hope to review all of their stuff.

1. Hi.: This is the introduction to the album. This song isn't really that amazing. It serves it's purpose, but I am not like, this is not in anyway a Rella. Some guy named L-Boy and he is just telling a story.
2. Bitches feat. Domo Genesis and Hodgy Beats: This is the first actual song on this album. The first time I heard this song I wasn't really that impressed. I don't really know anything by either Domo or Hodgy. The beat in this song is kind of obnoxious. The second time hearing this song is better than the first time. But that's how most song by them are, if you don't like it the first time. This song still doesn't have an amazing beat, but it still sounds better after being able to digest it.
3. NY (Ned Flander) feat. Hodgy Beats and Tyler, The Creator: I didn't really like this song the first two or three times I heard this album. But while I am listening to it during this review of it, I like it more than before. I like that there is a like Spanish girl talking in the middle of the song. This song is kind of depressing. Tyler is pretty good on this, and his raps flow. I didn't really think that his lyrics were that good at first. But as I said it grew on me. I also didn't notice his Goblin reference. The ending of the song has some girl talking about sucking his friends dicks. The song is kind of depressing, and the video reminds me of like a ''black'' version of RV by Faith No More. Not sound wise, just concept wise. {8/10}
4. Ya Know feat. The Internet: The only think that I've ever heard by The Internet was Cocaine. I didn't like that video and that song in general. I only listened to it once, I am going to give it another chance but I remember not liking it. In the middle of the song there is like a beat solo where it is just electronic sounds. It kinda reminds me of like outer space. She even uses reverb or something after that to make her voice sound like an astronaut and far away.
5. Forest Green feat. Mike G: The only thing that I know about Mike G is his name. I don't know if he's good or bad. From this song he isn't that bad. Left Brain produced this song and it seems that he is pretty good at production. There is a heavy dub step background in the verses. The chorus reminds me of Eminem's song, I think it's Without Me, which I know is off 2002's The Eminem Show. I don't like that album, I kind of think that it sucks... bad. There is also this like violin sample in this song that make it neat. I actually really like this  song and there is a part where it kind of reminds me also of So Bad off Relapse. I hope you know what I'm talking about.
6. Lean feat. Hodgy Beats and Domo Genesis: Oh shit, Hodgy and Domo, I hope this will be good. Ironic enough the first words in this song are "Oh Shit". I put my first sentence of this before the song started. The sample in this song reminds me of a mix of Nintendo sounds and Jeopardy song. This seems to be a weed rap. I don't really like weed raps, I don't smoke. Though it might see, I have never shot, snorted, sniffed, smoked, toked, drank, or performed a self enema. This song is really an ok song like it think that it is 
7. Analog 2 feat. Tyler, The Creator, Frank Ocean and Syd: Frank didn't disappoint me with this song. Nor did Tyler and with the addition of Syd this song is more R&B influenced. I got bored of Analog off Goblin but this one is much better and more "professional" and seems like they took more time doing this. There is a hidden track in this called Wheels 2. This song is fucking R&B straight up. I really think this reminds me of a better quality, more clear, version of  The Weeknd on his House of Balloons mixtape.
8. 50 feat. MellowHype: I haven't heard any thing by MellowHype but if all their stuff is like this than I'm psyched. This song is very aggressive and angry, the same anger, if not worse, that is on Radical off Tyler's album Goblin. The beat on this song is solid and angry. This song is a song that I could see people moshing to. This song is also kind of scary. There is a part where the vocals are sung together and it reminds me of the song Bright Light Fright by Aerosmith off 1977's Draw the Line. This is probably, out of all their albums, either my favorite or in the top 3. This song makes me want to punch a wall. I was very angry before I listened to this song and now I'm not so mad. It drains the aggression out of you.
9. Snow White feat. Hodgy Beats and Frank Ocean: I like this song, I don't think that this is the best song on the album, but I still like it. The rhymes aren't shocking me, first time through, but I know that I have to relisten to it. There is this like static sounds that. I don't really think that Hodgy and Frank are that good of a mix. They are completely different, in my head. Hodgy seems to me like a Lil' Wayne type of thing. Frank is like a Chris Brown, except for the Rihanna thing. The chorus doesn't sound very good. The flow into it doesn't really sound that good. I think that it isn't that good of a match up to start off with anyway. And the static sound kind of fights, not very much, but little bit the song. It ends up winning but still. I think the static is a sick way to lead into, the one the only....
10. Rella feat. Hodgy Beats, Domo Genesis and Tyler, The Creator: I took me 5 listens to get enough to be pleased with the information fo accurate info for this song. This beat is FUCKING CATCHY. There is no denying, and this is produced by the one and only Left Brain. This song is my favorite song I've ever heard by anyone who has to do with OFWGKTA. The beat on this is aggressive and pumps me up. I could see people moshing to this song. There isn't as much anger in this song as there is on 50 but there still is. The rhymes are perfect, Hodgy fucks his lines and makes the song drip shit out of it's asshole. Then comes Domo, who continues the fucking, but a little softer and slows down, but picks it up. When he is all done Hodgy has this little fill until...... UH!!!! Tyler stick his thumbs in this songs asshole and fucks it till it bleeds out. His words are super easy to understand the meanings, alone with the rest of the song, but Tyler just skull fucks his part. There is no way to explain how good he is at his part. This song is so fucking catchy... WHY!!!! I think that this is honestly the best song to come out of 2012 so far. I don't think that its humanly possible to explain this song. The only negative, which is so small I'm gonna make the text for it smaller than the other text. The little problem is it kinda ends abruptly {12/10} PS on my play lists in the past 2 weeks this song has 55 plays. 
11. Real Bitch feat. MellowHype and Taco: This song is more R&B feel to it. This song isn't really that good. The flows are lacking. There is a part in this song where it has them say swag like 15 times in a row. And the vocals of the chorus are not very good. This song is sexist, but who cares about that, it's just not good.
12. P feat. Hodgy Beats and Tyler, The Creator: This song is solid. I really think that Hodgy does good on his part, but Tyler is solid on his parts. He takes this song like a pro. I could see this song being an outtake from his solo album Goblin. I really like this song
13. White feat. Frank Ocean: This song is actually pretty pretty. This is a decent one by Frank Ocean. The beats are more emotional and more sweet than the others. This kind of reminds me of The Weeknd. This is a pretty cool song. I think that it  also has this keyboard in the background that reminds me of like some '70s R&B thing. The trumpets in this song remind me of the sample from Set The World On Fire off Megadeth's 1988 album So Far, So Good... So What! I feel like there isn't enough meat to this song, and it is a little too short.
14. Hcapd feat. Domo Genesis, Hodgy Beats and Tyler, The Creator: This song is the power trio that is featured in Rella. This beat isn't nearly as good as Rella. I'm not ripping on this song, but I wish it was better beat. This could also be an outtake from Goblin. It sounds like the Therapist is on this song. And also there is reference to Wolf Haley. This song is also pretty cool thought. This is an angry song and it also mentions Gold Wang. This song is better the second time hearing it.The sample in the background reminds me of a cop car siren.
15. Sam (Is Dead) feat. Tyler, The Creator and Domo Genesis: The beginning of this song reminds me of an old school underground hip-hop. This song reminds me of Eminem's first full length album from 1996 titled Infinite (hence the verse "From Infinite down to the last Relapse album" lyric in the song Not Afraid). This song is really cool. I kind of wish that they saved this for a Goblin 2.  This isn't really all that much of a collaboration as much as Tyler rapping alone. I disagree with how this feels on this album. I feel like this should be a mix tape, not more of a second half of the album being like Goblin: Refill. That is my only gripe so far with these songs that sound like that. I think they are perfect for a solo album for Tyler. 
16. Doms feat. Domo Genesis:  This seems like it is a R&B song, kinda. This song sounds like Domo was having trouble coming up with a free style, and he doesn't start until about 1:15 seconds out of a 3:13 seconds song. This song is ok, but I don't like the beat. I don't like how it doesn't sound like it's very good quality. The rhymes aren't that amazing either, but I like the song. It isn't that bad.
17. We Got Bitches feat. Tyler, The Creator, Taco and Jasper Dolphin: There is a person screaming on this song, I am assuming Jasper Dolphin because he says "I'm Back" and this is his first contribution to the album. This song reminds me of like a hardcore rap version of a song that Key of Awesome would do. Like the voice sounds like the guy from that who is like the main guy. It don't really sound serious, which it probably isn't supposed to but, they aren't terrific at showing being serious or not. I do like this song though. I think that this is another song aggressive. This is actually like a more pop version of a song I could picture on that Death Grips mixtape Exmilitary.
18. Oldie feat. Tyler, The Creator, Hodgy Beats, Left Brain, Mike G, Domo Genesis, Frank Ocean, Jasper Dolphin and Earl Sweatshirt : Fuck... Look who's on this bitch. EARL... he's free. And bitch it's fucking 10:36. When I first saw that I almost cumed. The song starts with them giving shouts out which lasts 0:24 seconds. Tyler is the first MC up. He is a solid flow going on to the song. Hodgy takes on the flow. He does a good job at it, not as good as Tyler but it's still good. I thought that Left Brain's verses was interesting. I didn't really know what his voice was like. I think he should rap more, and not just as MellowHype with Hodgy. Mike G. comes fourth, and he is good. Like I said I don't really know Mike G. that well, but I don't even know if he has an album or ep or mixtape out there. I think that he is good. I kinda want him to do a solo album. The other one who should have a solo album is Domo who does a good job on this. I can't say he is as good on this as the standard set from Rella but it is still good and cool. Frank is better at singing, I didn't really like his part much. Jasper fucking reminded me of Ol' Dirty Bastard. Like no joke it's like around 6:20 he starts. He also announces his name. He fucking KILLS this Ol' Dirty Bastard sound. Then comes Earl, and he fucks this song more than Tyler. I have only heard the song Earl by him but if all his songs are like that it is gonna be fucking sick. Tyler ends this song up and ends it up in a good way. And he mentions Radical as "his" anthem. This song is like a big ass long Wu-Tang Clan song. Actually it reminds me of the last track on Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers). I didn't realize this but one of my favorite part in this song is Frank's part. He is sick as a rapper, and I like his raps and flows better on this than his singing on Snow White. This song gets better everytime I listen to it. {9/10}

Overall I give this a 8.75/10. I really liked this muther fucka' in general. Obviously, as you have read, I don't think that this is Gods gift to rap. There is a ton more R&B style songs on this. This is like the other stuff I've heard by them. By that, I mean that, the way these guys are is if you don't really like a song, it you take it, it will grow on you. These guys are intense and they aren't nessicarly some type of group you can half arsed listen to and like it. You need to pay attention to this and actually listen to it. This is a process, once the process is over you will enjoy it. I'm going to try to pick up a copy tomorrow, too late and my ear has this abnormal sized zit/sis so I am going to the doctor tomorrow. So I'll try to buy it tomorrow. I was pretty caught up in the whole ear thing to buy it. I will have to live with the fact that it was the day after thought. :( But in all seriousness I'm kind of scared about this sis thing, it's been there for a month and I am scared. I went back and re-reviewed this as a 9.2/10. Ok this is now April and I regret giving it suck a high score. This thing has pulmeted and it is going to get a 5/10 instead of a 9. Sorry it just hasn't kept it's edge with me.
